"Great Sequel, but could be better"

This game was pretty fun at first, but like the other SimCity games, it can get kind of boring. I was torn between giving this a 7 or an 8, but really felt it deserved the 8.

Gameplay-It's a pretty fun game with a lot more options than the previous versions. As any SimCity player knows, creating a bustling metropolis is difficult and requires a lot of patience. Control is easy mainly because of the graphical icons, and the game is fun due to the options that almost make you feel like a real mayor.

Story-N/A. You're a mayor in contol of a city whose main goal is to create a metropolis and keep a balanced budget.

Audio/Video-I liked the music and sounds in SimCity 3000. There is a wide variety of songs that don't get really annoying. Also, sounds such as sirens and explosions are great. Plus, when you click on a building, you get a sound related to it(school bell, jail door slamming, etc.). The graphics are much better than those in SimCity 2000. You can view each side of your building this time instead of staring at the same face for the whole game and you can zoom in close enough to view the Sims and their vehicles.

Replayability-I don't think there is much of a replay value, but I still haven't been able to get a metropolis yet so I wouldn't really know=) But the game lasts a long time, especially if you don't use cheats so you get your money's worth of gametime.

Buy or Rent?-I believe you can buy this for $25-30, which is less than I paid and a great deal. Devoted SimCity fans won't be disappointed.
