RollerCoaster Tycoon 2: Time Twister
Review by Super Dark Tooth
"Time Twister is a good expansion but fails to deliver the goods..."
When Wacky Worlds came out gamers were surprised of how little it gave. New scenery, 50 new ''rides'' and new scenarios... boring. What the gamers want were new rides not newer rides. Now that Time Twister is out it still lacks in the ride department, but gives us lots and lots of new scenery.
Wacky Worlds is based on the seven continents while Time Twister is based on the past to the future giving us more variety in choosing our scenery and rides. You see the thing that make Time Twister a bit better is that most of the scenery is animated like 80% of it! Giving you park a more lively feeling.
The ''new'' rides are just new versions of the same rides just like WW. It has a new twists like Spider Twist, Dino Twist and finally, Neptune Twist. There are only 3 ''new'' twist rides meaning there is alot of differnet ''new'' rides. Like the Mace Ride, based on the space rings and the Time Machine also based on the space rings. There are also some new dodgems and other rides.
The scenarios in TT are nothing new. Have 1400 peeps by the end of Oct. year 4. *Yawn* Been there done that.
So there basically nothing new in this department.
Now for the typical stuff...
Graphics
Peeps look the same and the rides look the same so nothing has changed. Except it is pretty cool to look at new the animated scenery.
6/10
Sound
Aww yes, you can hear the ducks honking the peeps puking and the coasters rolling nothing is more sweet.
Sound is the same as usual of course, but it still never fails to amaze you.
9/10
Fun Factor
This is where the game needs to improve on, since there is nothing new and there is only the same old things it does get boring, but at least you have the scenario editor a coaster designer and hey! just go on the internet and just download rides... works for me! Still the fun factor has gone down since nothing new has happened to the game since LL... that's pretty sad...
7/10
Time Twister is a pretty good expansion, well it's better than Wacky Worlds I'll tell you that! It does need to improve on a few things, but it will keep you entertained. If you don't have WW and want a good expansion just pick up this game for $10-$20 and you won't be sorry! If you do have WW then just get this game anyway!
