Quake III Arena
Review by Luciandar
"One of the greatest FPS for the PC."
Quake III: Arena is another great FPS. If most of you played the Quake series, you will understand that this game is on top of them. The action is intense, and the online play is nothing but endless fun. With many weapons and levels, the gameplay is surely the main boom for this game.
But for you story lovers, this game would not be for you, since this game does lack a story, most like other FPS's. But once you play this game, it will be hard to put down, as it is extremely addictive. Once you put this game in your PC it will probably never ever ever ever ever ever come out.
Graphics 9/10
The graphics are great, smooth textures, and nice looking weapons and explosions. The is realistic, and the terrain is nice.
Gameplay 10/10
This is where the game shines. The gameplay is AWESOME. It has a fast paced style, and fun challenge modes. But, if you really want the most out of this game, play online. You will meet many challengers, and play match, and other modes. There are many different weapons, and levels to play on, giving you a variety to your choices of style. To the rocket launchers, all the way to the pist0ls. There's more than enough weapons to pound your enemies into a bl00dy pulp. [ And there was much rejoicing. Yea. ]
Story 3/10
This is where the game isn't so pretty in. You are a combatant, and you fight many other combatants in an Arena. It's story is kind of boring, but try playing on it with different difficulty modes. But, Story does not matter on FPS's most of the time. It's all about the gameplay, so I did NOT count points off for this section of the review.
Replay value 10/10
Once you start on this game, it will never come out of your PC. You will probably spend hours and hours causing havoc on other players and such. This game defiantly got me hooked at my friends house. Now his Quake 3 has a massive amount of scratches on it, and your's will to.
Overall 10/10
Overall, this game is great. Possibly one of the best FPS's out there. Don't forget to pick this up. Plus, you can find it for cheap. 9.99 at the most. Heck, you might even find it at Amazon for five bucks. That's cheap for a great game.
Buy or Rent?
Well you can't rent PC games, so buy it.
