"A nice add on"

Intro- After Buying MOHAA two years ago, I am still content to play that awesome game. And what better way than with its second expansion, Breakthrough. Breakthrough takes place in the rarely seen North African front and the brand new Italian campaign of WWII. There are new Italian enemies, as well as your good old German buddies from the previous games. Your missions range from releasing British POWs to sabatoging a whole airfield. Its nothing new, but rather just more fun stuff to do, tasks to complete, people to kill, ect. So the question is, ''Is this expansion really worth buying?'' Hopefully this review can help you find out.

Gameplay- The gameplay in Breakthrough is pretty much the same as in Spearhead and AA. This is somewhat dissapointing, as Spearhead added weapon bashing and grenade cooking. However, there are lots of new weapons (British and Italian) and some new soldier models for multiplayer. That is definantly a good thing, since there can never be too many multiplayer characters. Also, the game tries to be more realistic in the sense that you will now not be able to lug around tons of ammo. Dead enemies will now leave behind no ammo, so you will have to make every shot count. No more unloading 200 bullets into that unsuspecting patrolman :(. One outstanding part of this game is the teamwork. In the first level, you are part of a massive allied counter-attack in a blinding sandstorm. All around you allied and German soldiers are firing rounds into each other. This is very well done, as in Breakthrough you will not always be alone. One more cool feature is that you can get in and out of vechiles, like in Battlefield 1942. This makes the game immensly fun at times, so I'll give gameplay a 9/10.

Graphics- The graphics in Breakthrough are impressive, to say the least. At low settings they are kind of choppy, but when you put them in high quality, they are pretty good. Tanks and buildings are done neatly, and the soldiers are real looking. Not like some of the walking cutouts in other games. Graphics get a well-deserved 10/10.

Sound- The sound in Breakthrough is very nice. There is some neat background music that fits the WWII battlefield perfectly. And the weapons and artillery sound authentic as well. The only problem is that sometimes when you fire off a rifle you can't hear the sound. It's probably just a bug though. I'm sure the patch can fix it. But for now, sound gets a 8/10.

Replay value- Although breakthrough is a fun expansion, once you beat the game, there is not much you can do, except beat the game again. And the multi-player is lag ridden. My game always stops or quits out. Not fun. I have no choice but to give replay value a 6/10.

Overall, I would say that, if you are a big MOHAA fan like me, buy this game. If not, than try Call of Duty. Thats not to say you won't like this game, but if you didn't care for MOHAA, than the expansion will probably the same expierience. So as a final grade I would give this game an 8/10. Not bad at all.
