Command & Conquer: Generals - Deluxe Edition

Review by coolcrew2010

"One of the best RTS games on the market!"

I have every Command and conquer game released, and by far this is the best. A cool feature about the expansion is each team gets three generals that specialize in different ways. For example one of the USA generals specializes in Super weapons, which makes the particle cannons cost half as much and the defensive units are way stronger. BTW this is my first review written for this site :) Anyway lets get into the review.

Graphics (10)- The graphics in this game are beautiful. The games graphics take alot after Warcraft 3. You are able to zoom in and out while playing. Everything looks good, I especially love the mushroom cloud explosion from the nuclear bomb, It looks very lifelike and is very bright. They also have interesting things like your units can run over fences and knock over trees. most of the units explode and flip into the air when they are destroyed. After playing this, Red Alert 2 looks very cartooney, and not very interesting. The only thing I don't like about this game is the soldiers and infantry in this game. They look very undetailed, and their guns look like just a black rectangle. The tanks look very detailed especially the overlord tank. :P

Sound (10)- I don't care much for sound in video games but this game has very good sounds. The nuke sounds like a nuke, a missle being launched sounds like a missle being fired, very realistic.

Storyline (9)- This game doesn't have much of a storyline, and there isn't any real-life actors during the cinematics. Some of the missions get repetitive and are boring, but it isn't much of a problem because you can play skirmishes if you don't like the missions.

Controls (10) The graphics are good, There isn't the normal build bar that you use in the previous command and conquers in this game. They use the same ideas from starcraft, warcraft and all the other RTS games. You must use contruction dozers to build your buildings and defensive structures, and use other units to collect your resources.

Overall- This is a great game, and at a great price, you can't go wrong. The only downside to this game is it has VERY high requirements to play, I just upgraded my computer and it still plays pretty slow during the campaign. You get the game and the expansion which is well over 10 hours to beat the campaigns, and at least another 10 hours for skirmishes, or online play. This is definately a buy.
