NASCAR Racing 2003 Season

"Best racing game there is, there was, there ever will be!!"

Well lets start off, Nascar 2003 season is not for arcade racers, even though there is a arcade mode. The core of this game is simulation. It is the most realistic, down to every single detail racing sim there ever was. If you ever wanted to race side by side with Jeff Gordon at Daytona, you will actually feel like that you are there in this game.

GRAPHICS- 9/10

I have a amd atholon 3000+, 512 RAM, Geforce FX 5600 256 mb card. I can run the game full blast, with every detail on, all 42 cars on the track and it looks great. This game is beautiful. The way the lights reflect off the cars and the track is amazing. When watching the replay you could get it confused for a real race. The wrecks are done very well, very realistic. When a car spins, the track fills uo with smoke as it should. The details on the track are all there, from the grand stands to the ambulances along the side of the track.

SOUND-10/10

The sound in the game is great. From the roar of the engines, to the sound of the tires as you spin out. Plus there are some really great mods out there where you download some cool sound mods.

LEARNING CURVE- It never stops

I cant reall set a time on the learning curve becouse you are constantly learning how to turn faster and faster laps. Each track has it own challenges. But expect to not be good for a good month, and it may take awhile to be able to beat a lot of the virtual racing vets.

OVERALL-10/10

This game is great. But do not attempt it with out a high end force feedback wheel and pedals. But where the game really shines is online. There are leagues out there you can join for free, or pay leagues, and on set days they will follow the nascar schedule as you actually compete against fellow racers in a real points battle. Plus at projectwildfire you can get mods so you can race the nascar truck series, the busch series, trans am series, iroc series, plus you can download other mods like the 1988 field, the days of thunder field, and so on. There is so much you can do with this game it literally has years left of playability. To bad EA took the nascar license from papyrus, but this game is perfect, you can find it prolly for tless than 20 bucks now in stores. With all the mods that come ut weekly for it, you will not get tired or bored of this game.
