Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
Review by RedFyre
"One of the best Star Wars games I have played"
Introduction:
Jedi Academy is one of the best Star Wars games I have played, but it seems like Jedi Outcast except for the fact that you can chose your missions. Other than that, JA is a pretty good game.
Gameplay: 8/10
Yeah, like most games, the controls get easier as you go, especially if you use a controller pad or customize your controls to your liking. The tutorial at the beginning teaches you how to use the force powers (but if you have played a Star Wars game before, then you already know what they do). You get to use the same force powers before, and even a couple new ones. The weapons are great, with the same weapons they gave you in Jedi Outcast, plus two more (the rail gun and another one, I don't use it much so I keep forgetting it). Since it dosen't tell you the controls at all during the game, it would be wise to read the controls, or at least change them to something you like.
Story: 9/10
The story is like a lot of other Star Wars games: you set out to do one thing, the bad guys of the story mess you up, and then you have to deal with them first, and probably don't end up finishing the original idea. Only in this story, you set out to train as a Jedi Knight, you get messed up, and have to deal with the people that messed you up (I won't tell you, because that would mess up the storyline). Once cool thing is having the saber staff (Darth Maul's Lightsaber), dual sabers, or the standard single saber. Another cool thing is getting to chose between the light and dark side later in the game. But you will find out what happens if you get the game.
Graphics and Sound: 9/10
The graphics are pretty good, as is the sound. The graphics are pretty good in this game, or at least as real as can be for a video game. (Okay, I've seen better, but those were console games, not computers). And the sound..... for the sound, imagine Jedi Outcast.
Play Time/Replayability: 10/10
The play time, is a pretty long time depending on how much you play. The replayability is good, thanks to the always-fun multiplayer. There are 5 modes of play: Free-For-All, Team FFA, Capture the Flag, Duel, Power Duel, and Seige. I mostly play Captrue the Flag, but they are all good. And with who knows how many characters and weapons, you can have a lot of fun with the game (try playing multiplayer online). The multiplayer mode is pretty good, as well, besause of the many possibilites you have to play with, especially online. But there aren't that many levels on the game to play on, so that kinda gets boring after a while.
Final Recommendation:
Get the game. But look at the minimum/recommended system requirements before you buy it. Oh, and get as much RAM on your computer as you can (trust me, it really helps gameplay. But as long as your computer can support the requirements for this game, it is a pretty good game.
