Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure

Introduction

This version of Pitfall was released in the year 1994 on the PC. Its almost the best of the ports but the SNES has the better speed. Well, the SNES version is very good but this one had the better qualities to it. Just read my review.

Story

While Pitfall Harry and his son Pitfall Harry were exploring deep in the Mayan Jungle and when they were in Legendary Temple of Uaxactun, Pitfall Harry JR. spotted a golden idol (Which becomes the extra life item in the game). Pitfall Harry JR. asked his father (Pitfall Harry) to come and see it. While Pitfall Harry was about to enter the room his was taken by the master of evil Zakelua. Pitfall Harry JR. sets out to find him in the dangerous Mayan Jungle.

Graphics

The graphics are god but there not the best. The pixels are the only graphic flaw in the entire game. Every sprite and level is detailed very well. Pitfall Harry JR. had like three different looks to him. Overall he did the same things, but in this he had the sprite design.

Controls

The controls are a easy to use. There also a little difficult. Jumping places is the first problem. The second problem is you have to change weapons. In the SNES version you don't have to.

Audio

The audio is perfect. The sounds are very high quality and so is the music. The music is what makes this version so great. The SOUNDELUX Media Labs who re-mixed the music for the PC version really did a good job. You can listen to the music with a CD player.

Gameplay

The gameplay is very good. You don't do a whole lot but everything you can do is cool.

Conclusion

This is the version that has the best qualities but the SNES has the better speed to it. The only problem is its supposed to run in Windows 95 only. Anyway, if you see it buy it. It only cost 3.99 on
