"An excellent game, but prepare for a LOT of head-scratching."

This game cost me 15 dollars. And I can say that it is some well-spent money. This game is the first point and click game that I have ever played! And now I don't regard point-and-click games as stupid, or pathetic attempts at a new genre. This game is not flawless, hence the 8. For one, RPG beginners will be a bit confused. This game is hard. You must think, remember and try to make sense out of everything. It isn't easy. Second, the music is a little too quiet. I like music in a game. It is what helped make Turok 2 so enjoyable. Music sets the mood of the game. But there is no mood. The music is pointless. Third, there is absolutely no excitement. Dang. Now on to the good things. This game is totally engrossing. You will be addicted right away by the story. It is very intruiging. Also, the thinkong element is a fresh break away from games like Sonic Adventure, Banjo-Kazooie, and other games like that. Let me be more specific. On to the review!

Graphics 10/10
You can compare the graphics to any Dreamcast game on the market. The backrounds are nothing short of breath-taking and really set you into the game. There is also nothing on the screen while you play making it easy to get around. I have nothing bad to say about the graphics. They are simply incredible.

Sound 7/10
As I said before, there is virtually no music. And it isn't very good. The sound effects, however, are on the same level as the graphics. Astonishing. From birds chirping, to water dripping the sound effects are what get a 7.

Control 10/10
It IS a point and click adventure. Getting around is easy, and interacting with everything is a cinch. Next.

Gameplay 9/10
This is an incredible game. You must explore every nook and cranny, and try to make sense of the way things are going. This is a thinker's game. I really like fighting games, but everyone likes a good puzzle now and then. This is game moves a little slowly, and lacks the excitement of say, Turok 2 and Soul Calibur(God I love those games!), but once you get past the fairly steep, learning curve, you'll see the magic of the island of Myst.

Replay Value 7/10
Okay, here is a little something that the game lacks a little bit in. Why? Because once you beat the game you won't play it again. And you might not. This game is very hard. I am totally stuck, and fortunatly, GameFAQs has a good amount of Walkthroughs. But the Replay Value still lacks a little.

Overall 8/10
I hope you like click and points. Oops, I did it backwards, :). Well, I wouldn't pay more than $25 for this game, and if you like RPGs, buy this gamme right away! This is a good game overall. -Street Writer
