Star Wars: Battlefront
Review by Hero of Time22
"Just about as good as it gets."
I am a big Star Wars fan as probably most of you who are reading this are big fans. So I appreciate just about every Star Wars game thrown at me. This game is no exception! This is probably the best Star Wars game ive ever played. The only thing is your gonna want to buy this game for its Multi-player play, not single player play unfortunately and ill explain why in my review
Graphics 8/10
I have to tell ya, months before this game came out and I was just reading about it in Game Pro magazine, the graphics were definitely sketchy. I thought this game was gonna be all messy and just not look right. But thanks to Lucas Arts for putting the effort into making the graphics better, they really polished this game. The graphics are just nice and smooth and amazing to look at. The character and vehicle models are perfect. It my not match to other game like it, but it sure does put you into the game.
Sound 10/10
If your a Star Wars fan, I shouldn't have to explain about the sound of this game. Its the Star Wars Audio back and better! I mean how could it get any better than that? Star Wars Battlefront has the best soundtrack of Star Wars music. Its just simply put, perfect. It puts you in the best possible experience of whats going on in the battle.
Game Play 10/10
THIS IS THE GAME! The Game Play of this game tells it all! Fight legendary massive battles on big terrains from the Star Wars film. You can be either the Rebel Alliance, The Empire, The Republic clone troopers, or the Separatist army (CIS). You also pick what kind of unit to play as, whether its a solider, pilot, heavy weapons , sniper, or a special unit, they all each have their own unique abilities and look different. The point of the game is that each army has a certain number of reinforcements. Once they are all dead for one side, then that team loses. You also have to capture command posts from other teams to make another place on the map to spawn at. If you can capture all the posts you can also win that way. Simple right? Not so fast, it can be extremely hard fighting in the trenches of these battles, trying to get some kills.
There a number of vehicles to jump into, such as star fighter, ground Machs, or bombers. The controls aren't to hard to get used to but they do require some practice. The downfall of this game is the single player AI. Now its not horrible, but it could get better, by a long shot. multi player on line is the way to go for this game. You will still have some fun with single player, but you'll have more fun on multi player.
Controls 10/10
Nothing out of the ordinary controls for a PC keyboard. If you have played First person/third person shooters before, then you really shouldn't have a problem with them. But there are a lot of controls to try to remember, so make sure if you don't know how, to study that instruction manual.
Replay Value 10/10
This game is on line, (And yes on line is free, and you need a cable connection), so on line play doesn't really get old really. You'll be playing Star Wars Battlefront on line as much as you did playing Star Craft way back when.
Single Player will definitely get old though, sometimes you'll just get sick and laugh at the A.I. problems.
OVERALL 10/10
Just awesome, completely awesome. I love this game and it'll never get old for me. I say BUY IT, BUY IT NOW! You will not be sorry what so ever, this is the ideal Star Wars game of all time.
Thank you for reading my review, I hoped I have helped you make a decision, and that you will have fun with this game!
