Unreal Tournament
Review by AznSky909
"U is for U better play this game, and T is for Too fun to ignore!"
When Unreal Tournament has been released, hundreds of thousands of people all around the world have started playing it. They instantly got addicted to it. So did I. This game stands out from all other First Person Shooters because it has no storyline. Basically, many FPS games have storylines, like Halo or Doom. But Unreal Tournament is just an FPS in which you need to finish all these missions.
Graphics- Let me start the review off with the graphics. For a 1999 release, it has very good texture. It even beats the graphics from the modern games like Halo. And the weapons get there own effects, too, apart from the InstaGib shock rifle and the AMSD Shock Rifle. **10**
Controls- Just like all other FPS PC-Style controls: Use the numbers to switch weapons, use your mouse to shoot and aim, etc. But there is a victory button or two that makes your character look funny. **10**
Sound- Hmm... music is sort of good, but many people, including my brother, have been turning the sound off. I wonder why.... The sounds the weapons make are very well recorded, and the screams of the characters when they die I like. But the most irritating sound effect I can think of is the Medical Kit / Health Vial one. **10**
Gameplay- Capture the Flag, Assault, Deathmatch, Team Game, Rocket Arena, Domination, Last Man Standing... how can you get bored with all of that? There are types of games that have their own set of maps, like Capture the Flag, for example. It has maps that Assault or Deathmatch can't use. There are also eleven weapons to choose from (Impact Hammer and Translocator, don't forget those). There are cool features as well, including Single Player Mode, Practice Sessions, and you can go to options and change your HUD. Plus, you can play on the internet, too! But watch out, the higher the ping you have, the longer the delay of shooting. And don't worry, there are still thousands of people waiting to kick your ass on the internet. Do not download maps common people have built using UnrealEd unless you really like the pics of it. **10**
Story- NONE! **N/A**
I've been hearing crap that compares this game with Quake 3 and Halo. To me Halo and Quake 3 are ownage, but when someone surveys me what my favorite game is, I will always answer "UT, fool!".
Rent or Buy? I don't think they have it for sale anymore. I suggest if you wanna buy it, buy on Ebay. Do not rent because you won't be able to have the fun you had with UT once you return it.
