Disney's Toontown Online
Review by mdawggie
"What?"
INTRO: Here is a game that when announced, everybody thought "Hey Square has finally slipped!" That is hardly the case. This game is one of the best MMORPG's to ever grace any part of our cosmos. Now I know what you are saying "Is he off his rocker? This game has to be a crapfeast!" No it isn't. As a happy toon, you must destroy the evil cogs that are trying to turn Toontown into a drab, boring, and predictible place to live.
GRAPHICS:This game has some pretty good considering it is a game which is compleatly stored in the website itself. The toons and cogs look good enough to keep it from apearing old and dated like many other online-only games.
GAMEPLAY: This is where it really shines. This game is the MOST creative game ever to come out. (They also had to make it family friendly, you know the disney thing?) So instead of guns, magic, and swords, you have seltzer, anvils and horns. You see the cogs can't take a laugh, that is why you must use GAGS to destroy them. There are seven types of gags, Toon-up which heals using things like pixie dust and jokes, there is trap which is luring cogs into things such as trap doors and dynomite, there is lure, which you use magnets and x-ray glasses to lure them into a state of stupor, there is my personal favorite, sound which attacks all cogs using things such as trumpets and foghorns, there is throw which is self exclamatory, such is squirt, and there is drop which you drop such things as anvils and safes on the cogs. The twist is, you can only chose six of the gag tracks. The fighting is turn based at heart with some little perks here and there.
REPLAY: This game has, I am not going to say tons, but plenty for the ten dollar a month subscription fee. You can have up to six toons, and throw them out when ever you want, but they are always putiing some new stuff into Toontown.
SOUND:This is where I couldn't give it a ten, the music is good, but wears on your nearves too quickly. There are only a handfull of songs, so it gets pretty repetitive.
WORTH YOUR DOLLAR? Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes.
