"For long time baseball fans this close to perfect"
Baseball. The game that has been around for years. And with all the baseball games being released today only ASAB 2001(N64)has some old timers but not alot. This game is nothing but thos old timers.
Graphics: 8
The graphics in this game are fine most of the time. The players look great when at bat. But sometimes after they hit the ball some pixels jump out but not too often. The ballparks are also great at bat. But again when hit pixels seem to jump out and it dose not look as solid as when your batting. The ball parks are accurate though. Dispite only 4 of them who ever made this game did a good recreating the ballparks.
Play Control: 7
The controls in this game can be simple or hard. You have the opption to just hit the ball and throw the pitch. But once you start telling your runners how to run it gets a little complicated. Basicaly you can do ever thing as in Ken Griffy Jr. Slugfest (N64) but on a keyboard it can get tricky. The controls are responsive though.
Presentation: 9
This game dose a great job here. Just about every big name player from the past is here. From Babe Ruth to Pete Rose. Hank Aaron to Joe Morgan. And everyone in between. This game has a Home Run Derby, Single Game, Series, and Season. Because all the players in this game are taken from all over baseball's history there are no relalistic team name in season mode. All the name are taken from the best player on the team's nickname. Like Hank Aaron's team is called the Hammers and Lou Gehrig has the Iron Horeses. Allthough the game did a good job putting a ton of players in this game the shot themselfes in the foot by putting only 4 ballparks in the game. That is why this game did not get a ten for presentation.
Sound: 7
The sound sounds great. It is crystal clear. But there is no anounser. There is a ballpark anounser who anounses who is batting. There is also a crowd that sounds great and makes some relalistic cheers. Like if you hit the ball hard they go nuts for a moment then shuts up when the ball is caught.
Satisfaction: 8 or 10 (depending on who you are)
If you are just looking for a baseball game this game gets an 8 because you won't know who half the guys are but you will have fun. If you have been a fan for a long time will give it a 10 because they will know who the players are and have fun at the same time.
Final thought: Get this game and see what you think. I got this plus 2 on 2 NHL Open Ice for 10 bucks at Best Buy. I don't know if it was a sale or not but a know I got a bargin.
