"From the Source Engine with Love"

Who can even begin to compare this game to any other? Obviously the biggest plus for me looking at CS:Source, is the physics. I can't even begin to explain how awesome it to see bodies, barrels, boxes, objects, etc. behave in an almost perfect real-world adaptation. The ragdoll is outstandingly awesome.

Graphics 10/10:

The graphics are absolutely phenomenal, although those of us with less than top of the line pc's may suffer a bit of lag or other frame rate issues. This aside, these graphics are mind boggling. And honestly, who doesn't love Kilroy? The new sprays are great.

Sound 8/10:

Nothing spectacular here, however the sounds do immerse you in the game.

Gameplay 7/10 and 10/10:

I give two different ratings here. First of all, I'm displeased with the amount of "finagling" they've done with the recoil. Yes it may be a tad more lifelike, but I guess those of old CS'rs will either adapt quickly or join the thousands who've gone before us. The 10/10 is because, hell, this is Counter Strike, in my opinion the best fps multiplayer game ever created.

Tweaking 10/10:

I've read alot about how you can tweak your game for optimal performance, and am apt to experiment and I suggest you do also. It will heighten your gaming experience.

Overall 9/10:

Personally, I was content with CS 1.5 and would've like to stay there. I guess I'm a conservative in the cyber world as well. I say if things are fine, don't fix 'em. Still we had CS 1.6, and then the infamous "Steam" transfer, which I deplored. It is impossible to hate CS, and I hand it to Valve and Vivendi who upgraded this game, sending most of us into euphoria. Half Life 2, which is the best game ever made (in my humble opinion), had to have the complimentary game which we all know and love: Counter Strike: Source.
