Sentimental Shooting

Porn is widely known as man's best friend, degrading towards women, and in some cases, morally wrong. What porn usually isn't known as is a Japanese videogame where you pilot a ship and destroy a women's clothing in addition to some strange alien bugs. Sentimental Shooting is such a game.

Sentimental Shooting is a vertically scrolling shooter in the vein of games like Radiant Silvergun or the classic 1942 on the NES. As I previously hinted at, the main difference in Sentimental Shooting is that instead of scrolling through a military base or an alien hive you're scrolling through a cute anime girl just begging to have clothes blown off. This whole concept is pretty f'ed up, but it works well in the context of a 2D shooter.

You start off by picking one of over ten girls, who happen to double as levels. Normally it's the strict parents and credit card protected sites that do a good job of interfering with your quest for porn, but I have to say that alien bugs are definitely the most effective. There is always a steady stream of fire coming from them, plus a few kamikazes trying to rub you out. Fortunately, your ship isn't totally defenseless against the bug horde. Armed with a limited amount of massive ion beam which punishes the bugs to no end and the basic guns that cut through them like butter, those alien thugs better recognize. Sadly, there are only two different power ups in this game, which is disappointing amount for a shooting game, even though it's a porn shooting game.

But who cares about the gameplay when there's the shooting off of clothing is involved. While you're penetrating the alien defenses you can shoot off certain parts of the girl's clothes until her panties are revealed. The level ends once you shoot off a certain amount of clothing, but if you managed to get 100%, you move onto the bonus round. In this round you're facing a boss and you get a chance to shoot of the girl's bra and panties. The screen constantly scrolls, so it can be tricky to not miss any clothing of the girl, especially the socks. After beating the level you're given the chance to save a picture of the girl for viewing purpose on a later day…like when no one is around. The bosses are usually pretty dull in terms of originality and intelligence, so they are not really exciting to go against. The only excitement is the nudity you get if you win. Isn't that reward more than enough for most?

Sentimental Shooting is very difficult when compared to other games. You're only given 3 lives per stage, and one shot can end up killing you. Shots sometimes practically fill up the screen due to the massive amount of enemies, and this is on the easy difficulty setting! The difficulty level may turn off some, but others may see it as a fun challenge considering the porn is a turn on.

The most important aspect of the graphics is how the girls look and fortunately these ladies don't disappoint. Each one is a quality drawing on its own. There is a wide variety of girls ranging from blondes, brunettes and hotties holding cute little deformed creatures. The ladies are usually in provocative poses which turn out to be more provocative when they're naked. All the enemies look out of place when placed against the backdrop of a hentai school girl, but not many things I can mention would look in place in such a situation. Nothing will be missed if Sentimental Shooting is played with the sound off because of the average quality of the sound effects and cheesy music. My hypothesis is that the developers did this so lonely teenagers' parents won't wonder what their kids are doing on the computer all the time.

Despite the incredibly simple gameplay, there is still a decent amount of replay value. This is mostly due to the large amount of stages and difficulty settings. The amount of enjoyment you will get out of this game solely relies on your desire to see pornography. While anyone with the internet can access porn, I feel like I accomplished something when I earned the dirty pictures in this game. It feels good knowing you had to work for your porn, but on the other hand it also might make some people feel dirtier. Overall, this is a fun game if you're in the mood for some lighthearted action. For those of you who are easily offended by nudity, I suggest not looking up information on perverted hentai games. You all ought to be ashamed of yourselves.
