"Besides going over the road, you can go around it into the abyss"

Ever since the GameSpot review of this game, everyone has heard about it. And everyone has the same opinion: one of the worst games ever.

Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing manages to take everything in a game and make it so bad that it is not even playable.

GRAPHICS: 1/10
For a game released fairly recently, the graphics are very poor. The trucks look ugly, and the brake lights even float off of the truck!

The environments don't look good, either. Basically, there's this black road going around poorly-textured and modeled buildings and landscapes. Plus, the landscapes are very similar to each other, with minor changes.

In the options, the graphics can be set to "Low" or "Medium." If there's no "High" option, then that should prove that graphics won't be good.

Plus, the timer doesn't even fit into the box it was designed for. That's pretty bad.

STORY/GAMEPLAY: 1/10
According to the game's box, you're supposed to drive around various tracks, delivering illegal cargo to the finish line before the other truck, avoiding the cops along the way.

However, this is all a lie. In the game itself, only two of the trucks actually have a trailer. There are no cop cars to be found, and the other truck... well, it doesn't move at all, unless you have patch where it moves. Then, you can drive around five tracks that are all basically the same, except for one that doesn't even work.

Of course, because it doesn't move at all, you can drive around the course as much as you want, without worrying about the other truck. And even if you do have the patch, the truck will stop before the finish line. This guarantees you the win every single time, with a screen of a trophy and "YOU'RE WINNER!" every time.

Like every racing game made before it, there's always obstacles that makes it possible to crash in to. However, in Big Rigs, there is no way to crash. You can go through everything - the buildings, the bridges, and even the other truck.

Also, like other racing games before it, there are walls to prevent your car from going into the background. Not in this game. Besides going through buildings, bridges, and other trucks, you can go drive around on the poorly-textured mountains. Then, after driving around on mountains, you can go past that and into the gray abyss beyond the stage itself.

No obstacles? What else, no speed limit? Well, you are right! Your trucks can go as fast as you want, going at speeds that can never be obtained by a real truck.

If you're tired of going at very fast speeds, then you can stop instantly. That's right, you don't need to slow down, you just stop on a dime. Then you can go in reverse, going at the same speeds as you would going forward.

And if you go too fast, the game will crash. That's a bad thing if you make the game crash on purpose.

CONTROL: 1/10
Of course, there are no physics, so you could do whatever you feel like. The handling for all trucks is the same - and that's poor. There are also no control editing options, so it's the same layout all of the time.

SOUND: Non-existent, MUSIC: 1/10
There's no sound in the game at all.

The music is just this annoying techno track that repeats after a few seconds. It doesn't sound good at all.

RENT OR BUY?
Neither. If it's considered the worst game ever made, then that obviously means that you shouldn't buy it at all, unless you really want to experience how bad it is.

Big Rigs is jut one of those games that has entered video game culture as the worst game ever made. Avoid it at all costs, unless you want to buy it and experience how bad it is for yourself.
