The Sims: Hot Date
Review by tiamold
"Excellent Expansion"
First off, Hot Date is an expansion to the Original "The Sims" game. It adds extra features and all that good stuff.
Gameplay- The gameplay in Hot Date is fairly simple, just as it has been since The Sims came out. This expansion adds a "Downtown" where you can bring a friend or lover for a fun time, or just to go shopping for gifts or food. Or maybe you just want to take a walk in the park, which you can do in this expansion as well. The downtown adds a lot of experience to the game, since you can now actually leave your house and go out in the public scene. There are restaurants, bars, parks, and plenty of shops. The shops include Clothes, Jewelry, and gifts/flowers. The fact that you can actually go out of your sim's lot makes this expansion pack all worth while. Also added are new actions, like "Passionate kiss", or "Polite kiss." There are many others, but you will know when you play the game, which is something you should do.
Of course the best part is the new added objects. There are TONS of new objects that are designed for the downtown, but also can be used back at your sim's lot and home. Also, don't forget you can share your downtown lots and download fun and exciting new items on the official website for The Sims. This is good for people who bought the game more for the "Build" mode, because you can now design a booming downtown, and put your skills to the test, while sharing them with the public.
Sound- The sound hasn't changed in quality from The Sims original game, but they were never bad.
Graphics- These haven't changed since The Sims either, but the graphics for this game are pretty good. Not the best in the world, but we must remember that graphics don't make or break a game, unless they are major crap.
Final- If you want to add more features, items, areas, and new social actions to The Sims, you NEED to get this expansion pack, because it adds so much. This expansion pack is totally worth it, and you won't regret buying it. The Sims is a great game, why not make it better?
Overall this expansion pack earns in the 8/10 range for me, just because it is a little pricey, at least when it was new.
