"Warrior kings: king of rts"

Warrior kings in my opinion is my favourite rts game of all time. I think warrior kings offers a challenge to gamers of all difficulties and the storyline is great.

GRAPHICS 7/10

The graphics on warrior kings are let's face it excellent!. The 3D models really take to life and look very well presented in close up mode. But as a downfall with such huge maps if you zoom out to the full amount the mouse wheel the units disappear from view and you can easily mistake units for something else. Small battles are great but large scale battles are awful.

GAMEPLAY 6/10

The gameplay is very hard in later levels. I think the game has made archers overwhelmingly strong as the seem to defeat every unit in the game pretty easily and as you get later in the levels more and more archers come to kill huge numbers in your army. You have to be in control the whole time whilst playing warrior kings as units will do nothing unless you have ordered them to take some men out. I once remember having to fight 2 battles at the same time so a company of 25 imperial knights got slaughtered by a few archers on top of a hill. The gameplay is a real downpoint to a truly great rts game.

STORYLINE 7/10

You can choose 3 paths to warrior kings IMPERIAL (catholic), PAGANS (demon worshippers) and RENAISSANCE (technological). You start with a man called "Artos" who let's face it is useless, if "Artos" dies, you fail the level!. "Artos" tries to get revenge on a bishop who kills his father but you can only kill him on 1 level on the pagans, and 1 level on the renaissance so he does not get revenge on the imperial where he swears he will get revenge!. The story can also appear bland ond boring on some levels. Not a bad storyline but sometimes the game can be like a really bad history lesson.

OVERALL 7/10

Still a great game, my favourite rts game definitely. I recommend getting warrior kings battles as it has been improved from the original warrior kings that i am writing about. There is a really bad glitch on warrior kings because if there is too much data on 1 level the game will freeze completely forever.
A good game if bought cheap.
