Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption

"Ah, Nihilistic, Can You Make a More Perfect Game?"

I guess I should start by saying that I love vampires. They fascinate me, and they're loads of fun to play as.

I got this game while visiting my Grandmother. We were at Best Buy, and I had been looking for Redemption for some time. I saw it on the shelf, and bought it. Unfortunately, it didn't work on my Grandmother's computer, but DID at home. Let me tell you. I've beaten this game two times in the past year I have had it, and It is one of my favorites.

Now, the actual review.

Graphics 9/10
This game has great graphics, and only the occasional glitch (Occasional as in once) happens. The one time it glitched on me was when I was talking to Wilhem, and everything went rainbow. Your characters look great, and everything is beautifully rendered.

Sound 10/10
I liked the sound. A lot. Some of the music can get on your nerves, but other than that, the sounds of Christof screaming at your enemy when you attack him, or when people talk (The voice acting is magnificent) are all really great.

Gameplay 10/10
The game was so much fun to play. There will be times that you'll need to get a walkthrough (Gamefaqs never fails at that), but most of the levels are moderately easy, as in easy enough to get through, but still very pleasantly challenging. The one thing i didn't like about this game was the point/click movement (like Diablo). When I was really strong, and in town, I kept accidentally clicking on pedestrians, or other innocents, killing them, and lowering my Humanity. Oh well. You just need to be careful.

Story 9/10
I will not tell you WHAT the story is (To prevent spoilers), but I will tell you HOW the story is. And it is this: Awesome. The story will draw you in, make you a part of Kindred society, chew you up, and spit you back out to the real world when your Mom yells at you to turn off the computer because you'll be late.

To buy or to rent? That is the dumb question.
