Counter-Strike: Source
Review by MafiaReborn
"Best Counter-Strike game created!"
On November 8, 2000, the cries of gamers for an amazing game were heard and Counter-Strike was made. It was the first game where counter-terrorists and terrorists could have huge firefights online. Never was a modern day combat game created to be played on online only. While Counter-Strike condition Zero was horrible, the Source engine saved the day. Counter-Strike: Source promised state of the art graphics, rag doll physics and more. Read my review to find out what makes this game so great.
Online play: 10/10
Counter-Strike: Source uses Source's state of the art engine to give you state of the art graphics, amazing cool rag doll physics and the ability to destroy most of then environment on the map. When you kill a person your character falls accordingly. Let's say, you kill a guy that's up against a wall, he will then fall and has back leaning against the wall. Source's technology analyzes how the character was hit and from what angle then uses the correct death method. When you miss a shot while shooting at a guy or you just like shooting randomly at nothing, you'll see bits of the object he was behind come up in a puff. You can destroy desks, computers, picture frames, and many more objects. Now, onto the game play, Counter-Strike: Source is very realistic compared to the other Counter-Strike games. It now takes about 3-4 shots to kill a person. All guns have a realistic amount of recoil and don't have tons of recoil like in the original Counter-Strike. There are no new weapons except that they removed the tactical shield from the game. So, all you tactical shield haters can now find peace in this game. The flash bang is more realistic because when you get flash banged there is now a "burn" in the screen for about 5 seconds. The burn is the last thing you saw before you were flash banged. Like the original Counter-Strike, there are hundreds of maps to keep you busy, so you won't be bored for a long time.
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics in the game are such an improvement over the original Counter-Strike and look better than most of the recent games out on the market.
You can see the fine detail on the weapons and the guns are actually bigger and more true to their size compared to the ones in the original that looked like you were holding toys. The blood actually looks like blood and doesn't look like some kid drew on the map with a red crayon.
Sound: 9/10
The sound is great, the gun sounds and explosions are nice and crisp. The only problem is like when you get killed or kill an enemy you don't hear them scream or make any sounds. I also believe that should add a feature where if an enemy is near you and he is typing in a command you should be able to hear it too.
Overall: 10/10
This game is amazing and if you have a PC you should definitely buy this game because this is one of those games that make video games worthwhile and great! This game comes included with another revolutionary game called Half-Life 2.So, your getting two great games for one price.
Pros:
Great Game play
Updates weekly
Great graphics
Tons of maps
Cons:
Still doesn't have an option to play on a map with more than 32 people
They need to put more things into the audio section of the game
