The self titled 'Microsoft' golf has some standards, but is really sloppy on the game play. This game offers some dated graphics, good sound and realistic golf physics but the look and format is horrible.

You play golf, just like any other game, but its not a screen you play the game on...it's a window. The whole game is made up of multiple windows. This is not the way to make a golf game. I can see where they were going with this, if a window is in a place you disagree with you can move it out of the way, but who cares?

It can get confusing if you have the player screen and the score chart and the power meter bar all minimized at the same time, or even decide to close one. Good luck getting it back without restarting the game.

All the characters are the same, or look the same. You can choose different t-shirts and shorts and even the sex of the character. The difficulties are either easy medium or hard when you play against a computer but don't bother on hard, you will never get that good to beat them.

Why? It's because the game play is all wrong. You press a power bar for the power and accuracy of the drive, and it might as well land exactly where it wants because it never lands where I want it to anyways! Putting is a disaster, as well. Is there a slope on the green? You'll never know. How hard do I hit it? guess, it's tricky to know because while it may look close you may not even be close when you hit it. It's just confusing.

After all this game is old, and I know, but it is just so lame and hard and frustrating that I can't give it any merit. Maybe making it a full screen game and adding some putting assistance would have made it more playable and more people would know of its existence but, sadly, it falls into the wave of forgotten games. Golfing fans should look to Tiger Woods PGA tour for their golfing fix and even the older dated versions of that are better than this.
