Imperialism II: The Age of Exploration

"Such a pity nobody plays this"

Before I begin, I would like to say that this is a great strategy game and it is a rival to many out even now..it's sad that since it got no advertising it just....died. It is a game that includes historical moments, technology, names of tribes, and in fact can teach you quite a bit.

Game play-10/10

The AI is really annoying. Don't believe me? Then try to beat this game on "Nigh - On Impossible", you have no chance at all. In this game, you start out as a European major power and the final goal is to have the majority of the land. Seems easy enough eh? Well it's not. You must carefully decide which nations to try to negotiate treaties with, and which to attack and be attacked back in return. You must decide whether or not to build forts or place army units in a certain spot knowing that if it is undefended, you might as well hand it over to the other nations. There are many technological advances you can discover in this game such as cotton plowing, advanced forts, gem mining, and these are just a few of the hundred this game has to offer. Seriously, this game has so much technology. It also has a very apt military system, using technology to tie in with military and produce the right effect, same goes with ships too. Over all, the gameplay is what makes this game.

Graphics-8/10

Well it's an old computer game, so I'll cut it some slack. But it is plain and simple, but what more do you need? I'm just giving it a 8 because some parts could have been WAY better ( battle animations).

Music-8/10

Now the music is awesome, it is all classical music from, hey guess what- The Age of exploration. The music will make you happy just listening to it, but then again you "rock people might just find it boring, and the effects are somewhat...slow and annoying. So 8 it is.

Story-I can't rate this

You conquer the world..mwahaha. That's it, if I had any more to say I'd rate it...

Replayability- 8/10

It's good because you can choose which technology to master and what to conquer...but in the end you just have eventually the same thing. But the different modes DO redeem this game a bit in my eyes since the AI is very intelligent in this game...too intelligent.

Buy or Rent

I got it for 10 bucks so you can just buy it, plus nobody rents it anymore. It's such a shame nobody played this....
