Counter-Strike: Source

Review by Pimpindark777

"Great game, fun to play. Some say its n00bified, i say they are n00bs"

Alright, let's jump into this ****

Graphics: 9/10
These graphics are nice and shiny. Everything looks good. Plus, if your computer ain't too good like mine, you can lower different parts of the graphics, which is always welcome. All the guns look nice and clean which is good cause you stare at them for a while, duh.

Sound: 8/10
I can't really expect a lot from this. I mean it does what its suppose to. Enemy footsteps are heard well, which is important since that is the best way to find enemies. All the guns sound good and have their own distinct sounds. Reloads can also be heard which is a positive for tactical attacks. So, while their ain't much sound in the game, the sound in it is great and what should be there. On a note, many servers you go to will usually have some kinda sound modification. Most go for the classic Unreal sounds like "First Blood" and stuff like that. And some other servers will have some music playing which is cool, gives you something to do in respawn.

Gameplay: 9/10
Come on, it's Counter Strike, what do you expect. The excellent aiming system is back where your movement and position will affect your aiming. While n00bs will be mad at this first when you try running at people and bullets go all around em and your like WTF and their like "Have fun in respawn n00b". But you soon grasp it and you start to get some headshot vision, or at least I do. Soon you'll always be aiming for people's head which can help you out in other games such as Halo 2, but not so much in Battlefield 2.

Community: WTF/10
Ok, the community of CS is not too bad I guess, but thats mostly because you don't hear a lot of them, which is a positive. The people of CS have made many a mod for this game. Surfing can be fun once you get it. And some custom maps are quiet famous as of now such as Iceworld. So whether you like some serious strategy (you can find yourself a serious clan and play, probably use mics and stuff) or if you just wanna mess around, this is the place.

Now, about what I said in the title of this review, if you look at some of the reviews, you will notice that a lot of them dislike the turn this game has taken. They call it n00bified and what not. And I hear them, it's just I don't care. If you are into serious competition, people have gotten rich off this game, so I would say play it. Some complain even n00bs can kill pros in this to which I say that owning in this game will still make you better then n00bs. Believe me, your ktd will show it.

Overall: 9/10
This game is the best FPS out now, or at least one of the best. Games such as F.E.A.R. have begun to take away from its glory. But, you must also think how cheap this game is. If you buy it from Steam directly it is 20 bucks or you can just pick up Half Life 2 and get one of the best Single Player FPS's and CS for free. That's good deal in my book.

Unwritten rules of CS
Ok, you should be aware of these, these rules are usually shunned upon except at a pro level where you could be earning money or a very serious clan match. First up, you don't flash, you just don't, only a couple will accept this, usually only if teams are stacked. NEVER, NEVER, EVER, flash on Iceworld, everyone will hate you. Next, don't whore the AWP (big sniper called the magnum sniper, but online we all call it the AWP). One or two rounds is fine, then ditch it and stop hiding which brings me up to my last point. Camping, some camping is ok such as looking over a bombsite after the bomb is planted and stuff like that. Don't camp if you're the last player against a good-sized team, simply run at them and either die with honor or win. Just remember, there is this thing called respawn, being crazy ain't gonna kill you in real life, so just have fun, if you take it too seriously me and my buds will be sure to make fun of you. Cya on Steam.
