Indigo Prophecy
Review by Exodist
"This game can be good, and also crap at the same time."
Fahrenheit (or Indigo Prophercy) is a cinematic Adventure game, where you must control 4 different people in a quest to find out what the hell is gonig on.
This game can be good, but only good if the story line is good to you.
Let's get on with the review then!
Graphics 7/10
The only good graphics in the game, are the character models. Everything else is pretty crap. The levels are OK I guess, but still not that good. Animation is superb though, as they used motion capture for it. So really, the whole game was played out by people in black suits!
Sound 8/10
The music is OK, sound effects are pretty good too. Most of the music is sung by people, with only a couple of songs just music. The main menu music is OK, I like it. Also, the music for action scenes is pretty cool too!
Story 10/10
The game, being more or less cinematic, must have a good story. And it does.
Lucas Kane, a normal guy is in a trance, when he kills a man in a restaurant toilet. He notices what he has done, and must find out what the hell went on. Cue 4 different players, with different levels for them to play around in, as you learn more about the story in the killers view, his brother and two cops.
The title Indigo Prophecy is better than Fahrenheit, as I P has something to do with the story line. Best not to spoil it for you!
Gameplay 6/10
The only weak point. You watch some levels, you walk around in some levels, you press lots of buttons in some levels. That's about it. The button pressing includes pressing highlighted buttons on the screen, using the arrow keys and numpad. There are times you must press the left and right arrow keys one after the other or at the same time. Thats about that. The only other intresting thing is the fact you must move the mouse in a certain direction to perform a certain action. This is mainly for interacting with the world and talking. You have a time limit to say something too.
Overall 8/10
It's OK, but the gameplay lets it down. Renting would be good, cuz you could finish it in a day. But do what you will. I suggest this game to people who love cinematic games (why the hell) or adventure genre fans!
