"Let it go WILD!!!"
This is one of the best racing games for the pc that I’ve ever played. It’s a very addictive, fun, and enjoyable game to play. Racing like this in Chicago could never be this fun. With plenty of vehicles to choose from rangeing from a Mustang Fastback to the New Beetle. This game provides plenty of different races in this single town. This game may only have one town (Chicago) but Microsoft pumped this town with plenty of detailing. The game is very challenging to play compared to other racing games. When you play you can customize the weather from morning with rain to night with snow. You can change the level of cops, pedestrians, and traffic to make the game easier or harder.
GAMEPLAY **8**
All of the control in the game feels very responsive. The factory default for driving the car is the mouse but it’s very hard and you’ll probably want to change it to the keyboard. All of the gameplay in this game is very smooth and responsive. All of the controls are very well put on the keyboard but some may be in the wrong place. All of the menus work good with the mouse and the in game control screen is a very nice feature in this game.
SOUND / MUSIC **10**
In this game everything is there. The music is a very good choice for this game. Most of the music in this game is adreniline pumping and fun to listen to. The sounds in this game are all very detailed. Every sound is here ranging from the sirens of cops to you crashing into somebody going 130 miles per hour. The music and sounds in this game were put together perfectly with detail and precision.
GRAPHICS / LEVEL DESIGN **9**
The graphics in this game are amazing. All of the detail put into the city and the sky is amazing looking. These graphics are some of the bess I’ve seen on my computer. The city is so detailed it’s amazing. With plenty of shortcuts and detail to every little thing in this game it rocks. When you hit a trashcan or dumpster trash comes out of it. When you hit cars you car becomes damaged. Sometimes have of your car is damaged and the other half is perfect. The cars you drive are very detailed down to the little Ford logo and the GT logo. Microsoft didn’t leave anything out on this game besides and extra town to drive in.
REPLAYABILITY **9**
This game has so many modes it’s not even funnny and different types of races through the town. Sometimes you may race a few blocks while others require you to make a complete circle of Chicago. The game has threee modes. Quick race, Multiplayer, and single player. Each of these have there own sub catorgories of play inside them to choose from. And if you get tired of racing you can go into single player select cruise and just drive around town and explore it. This game has many more modes than this.
CHALLENGE **9**
The first few races may be easy but the others are very hard. Most of the times you’ll have to try to kill all the other cars just to win. This game is very challenging on pretty much any mode you play. And trying to kill some of the other vehicles can be tricky like how can you kill a semi with a VW Beetle well you can’t so this makes this game even harder. All of the races include plenty of difficult turns and lots of traffic to advoid. And the only way you can get more cars is if you win more races. At the beginning you start of with the average racing vehicles and as you win more harder races you’ll get better cars.
OVERALL **9**
This is one of the best racing games. It is very similar to Driver on the psx except fewer cops and a faster moving vehicle. This game is a must for any racing fan. The game is very addictive and you should be able to find it about anywhere for about $20 and it’s worth every cent. This provides pretty much everything that other racers do.
