Dofus
Review by BrandonTheSith
"An Excellent Tactical RPG"
Dofus is what is called a Tactical RPG for thinking RPG fans. Dofus has a several classes to choose from, 12 in counting, and each of them has different abilities and skills. It is easy to find and play. Think of playing chess with more diversity.
It can be considered addicting to some RPG fans who like to think, other gamers may ignore this title. Also people who are arrogant and self-centered will not be able to progress through the game. Most of the battles require teamwork. If you do not work together by powering up eachother, taking a blow and just straight out helping, prepare to die very easily by your teammates.
Graphics: 7
I wouldn't say Dofus is a graphical powerhouse, but it's graphic style is a sort of chibi style which is really not that good. Still, you play zoomed out so the graphics really make no difference
Sound: 9
The music here isn't really that comfortable to listen to, but it can be turned off which is good for players who like to listen to their own music. But still, it is a bit catchy!
Gameplay: 10
The gameplay may vary on the type of player who is playing the game, but for me I say it's excellent. Traveling the country side may take a long time, but if you see a monster you want to kill or a player you want to talk to, go ahead. The battles start on a grid with maybe 100 blocks. You have 30 seconds to place your character onto to one of eight red blocks. Other players may also join the battle to help you fight. Allies appear red, enemies appear blue. You have 30 seconds to make a move and move. This may disappoint some gamers... Dofus has a PVP system, but for players who like to go PVP for their belongings, they can not. PVP is a friendly match that does not risk items or energy. Quests also are in-depth and relatively fun. They have plenty of quests to keep you busy.
Interactivity: 10
Interactions with other players is what the game is all about. You can make parties of characters and friends to go hunt strong creatures and such. You can also join a guild, depending on the Guild Leader's requirements. A guild is a good way to make friends and have partner related activites in case you are bored. And finally you can join an alignment. There are three alignments symbolizing evil, good, and neutral. The alignments are called Bontarian, which is good, Brakmarian, which is bad, and Seraine, which is a Neutral/Mercenary alignment, but unfortunately, Seraine is currently only located on the French servers.
To sum it up, Dofus is one of my favorite MMORPG's. It has everything I would want in an MMORPG. And with a member tag of only $6.50, there isn't much to waste!
