Zoo Tycoon: Complete Collection
Review by FloodCombatForm
"Well, it was fun at first anyways..."
Ah, Zoo Tycoon! The only other "Tycoon" game that made any money (except Roller Coaster Tycoon). But the money it made was well earned. Where else would you find a Stegasaurus being eaten by a Lion? Or a chimpanzee being eaten by a T-Rex? However, like all games, this one got old. This review will show you the ups and downs of Zoo Tycoon, the Complete Collection.
This game looks fun and exciting! Build a fence, and create an animal, then follow the Zoo Keeper to find out what the animals needs to be happy. After that, let's build a tank, and make a dolphin! Now that the Marine Biologist says the dolphin is happy, lets create a show! The people like the show, don't they? Now, last but probably least, let's make....a dinosaur! We'll make the heavy-duty fence, and place the egg. The egg hatches and....a dinosaur! Oh joy! I've always wanted one! The scientist says he's happy! Now let's build a----
This is not how Zoo Tycoon works. Maybe at first this is what it was, but think about it. Are you gonna do that over and over and over and over again without getting bored? I seriously doubt it. Face it, nothing lasts forever, and Zoo Tycoon is certainly no exception. Ah, maybe I'm being a little hard, the kids love it right? But seriously, it gets old.
Graphics (8 out of 10)
The graphics in this game are pretty good. I mean, at least you can tell the difference between a Llama and a Dolphin (the llama has a fin on its back). Ha! Not really! The graphics are good, each animal and person is mildly detailed, and the terrian is actually pretty realistic. Trees are detailed and so are rocks.
Sound (9 out of 10)
The sound in this game is good. As you build buildings and adopt animals sound comes to your zoo. If your looking at the lions, you might hear a roar, or if your over wild boars, you might here a grunt or an oink. BUT imagine this, you just created a Tyranosaurus Rex, and it is not happy (they never are). IT WILL NOT SHUT UP! Sorry for yelling it's just that the DARN T-REX HAS MADE IT HARD FOR ME TO HEAR!!! And I even had mute on at the time.
Game Play (7 out of 10)
As I said before, doing the same thing OVER AND OVER again, gets old real quick. But the idea is simple: Make an exibit, put an animal in the exibit, and follow the instructions for what the animal you chose likes, or doesn't like. Then, make sure the guests are happy, then, rinse and repeat.
Fun Factor (7 out of 10)
Sorry, but I've got to mention it one more time. Doing things over and over again get old (that's why I'm so bored of saying....well....you know). But playing for a month and then taking a break is one way to keep it from getting old. If you can borrow it from a friend or rent it I'd do that before buying.
