"Greatest game for the Macintosh, hands down."

Diablo II, Made by Blizzard Entertainment, was one of the most anticipated games ever to come out. after the hit that was Diablo. after 2 years, they managed to crank out another smash hit for the Macintosh and PC. of course, it featured many improvements over Diablo. This game still remains popular, as battle.net reports hundreds of thousands taking Diablo 2 online.

Onto the review...

Gameplay: 9/10: The gameplay still sticks to the old Diablo, but it tweaks it a lot. it adds skills your character learns as you level up and put skill points into. your character has more of a variety of what to equip. you can now equip your character with boots, belt, gloves, and that is about it. still, Diablo 2 lets you have more control over your character.

Sound: 10/10: THE SOUND IS AWESOME IN THIS GAME. you will benefit most from it if you have 2 or more speakers attached to your computer. however, it even sounds good on internal speakers. the sound and music is very greatly composed in this game.

Graphics: 9/10: Somewhat similar to Diablo, it adds a kind of 3-D affect to the game. your character runs on a completely 3 dimensional plane. the one thing that has really improved are the graphics of the spells. the spells look really sharp. your eyes will be amazed.

Lifespan/replay: 10/10: Blizzard was really good on this one. it added new stuff such as sets, a set of equipment you equip on yourself to give you certain benefits. sets only work if you have all the pieces. there are different sets. then there are unique items, which there are one of and no more, and rare items, which appear rarely. you can have 2 of these. as you can see above, there is just too much to do.

Net Support: 8/10: Blizzard's net support, battle.net, is good, yet amazingly, free. i have been on battle.net and have had no connection difficulties. it is a great gaming service that is free and comes with every blizzard game for the computer.

Storyline 9/10: The storyline will take you away. the storyline is much better than that of Diablo, in which you must head down a 25-level dungeon. this time around, you head to different towns and such. i say it is much better.

Controls: 8/10: What can i say? the controls are very easy to get hold of. VERY easy.

Summary: This game is a great game is you cannot find any great games for the Macintosh. i give it a solid recommendation.

Pros:

-Easy to grasp gameplay
-Simple to understand
-Great storyline

Cons:

-Same old kind of gameplay
-Clicking on the mouse so much may break it
-Will not run on old machines, like Diablo did
