BATTLEDOME FAQ
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I have quit neopets, meaning this FAQ will be updated less, if at all
in future.

This document is copyright 2004-2005 Tom Tarling.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
INTRODUCTION
---------------------------------------------------------------------

First of all, this is a FAQ that I spent time making. So if you see
this on another site other than the ones listed below please e-mail
me at whitemage_200@hotmail.com.
If you want permission to use my FAQ you must get my permission, to
get that e-mail me at Whitemage_200@hotmail.com
If you dont get my permission and post my guide, you have Violated the
law... and have Broken the copywrite law, This guide is copywrite by
me, Blackmage200 and my alternate name Minishwarrior.

I give permission for this FAQ to be on the following sites:

-Gamefaqs.com
-CloudNeo.com

- I made this FAQ to benifit people who want to know about all
the weapons on Neopets. I hope this helps you as much as possible.
- If you want to suggest things for my FAQ please e-mail me at
whitemage_200@hotmail.com. [All troll e-mails will be blocked.]
- I would also like to thank LEF [Loves eternal flame] for support
whilst making this FAQ [and they also filled in quite a few blank
sections I had.]
- P.S- A few of the LEF members that supported this guide have left
that guild, so thanks to them anyway!

---------------------------------------------------------------------
BATTLEDOME INFORMATION AREA- BD01
---------------------------------------------------------------------

HP [a.k.a endurance]- Hit points, how much damage you can take before
you lose, when it gets to 0, you lose your battledome match! But dont
worry, they can never die, they are just injured, use some healing
items on them or visit the faerie springs in faerieland, there you
can heal a random amount of HP every 45 mins.

Strength- This stat take away opponents defence will make the bonus
damage, it also affects how much physical damage you deal with weapons
that deal that type of damage

Defence- See above, but it has a much lower maximum than strength, so
the chances of surviving a high strength pets attacks are STILL much
lower...
Its not fair really... >_<
Yet another error [in my opinion] by the Neopets team...

Movement- This does nothing... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, now if the neopets
team added a thing called 'first strike' [borrowed/stolen from Magic:
The Gathering] where a pet deals damage before the other one does, it
would make a small change in the way people treated it. But obviously
the neopets team have never played Magic or they would have stolen
some of its ideas...

How to improve stats:- you have a few choices:
1- Mystery island training camp - costs codestones.
2- Krawk islands acadamy - costs dubloons
3- Kitchen quest - not always, its only a percentage of a chance
4- The lab ray - you must have completed the map before you can use
the ray.
5- Count von roos dice game - 50/50 chance, on one side you will gain
some levels, on the other side you will lose some...
Do you feel lucky?

[You can also randomly gain stat points from random events, coltzans
shrine and the kitchen quest.]

The first 2 options also take time aswell as you cash; krawk islands
method is cheaper but takes longer...

IMPORTANT: Your stats can not exceed 2 times your level
example: if your level is 10, your maximum your HP can be trained
to is 20, so if you cant train a stat, raise your level before
trying again!

In-depth Lab ray guide:

[!!!WARNING!!!: The lab ray can seriously affect your pets happieness,
I and the neopets team take no responsibility if your pet changes colour to
blue.]

What the ray can do and the likely hood of it doing so:

Change Species and colour [Usually a common colour]
Change species
Change Colour
Put HP up 1-5 points permanently
Put HP down 1-5 points permanently
Put strength up 1-3 points permanently
Put strength down 1-3 points permanently
Put defence up 1-3 points permanently
Put defence down 1-3 points permanently
...
Put movement up 1-3 points permanently
Put movement down 1-3 points permanently
[Finally finished that...]
Nothing [!!!]

Rumors:
-Contributing in official Neopets wars can get you stat boosts

True, but there is no war currently, but The neopets team say a new one
will be release Jan/Feb 2004.

Update: Its been released, no sign of stat boosts though.

-You can get stat boosts for free at the Island Training post

True, but this is a glitch, do not keep trying to get it or The Neopets
team will freeze [ban] you! For that reason, i will not reveal the
glitch.

-The Lab Map only has limited use

False; however there is a glitch where it may dissapear, but the Neopets
team have claimed to have fixed it, whether they have is unconfirmed.

Update: It seems to be fixed, no more reports of them going...

-You are allowed to trade pets with good stats for lots of Neopoints

Totally FALSE! Trading your pet is a bannable offence, remember, a pet
is not just for christmas or your birthday, a pet is for life! [Quoted
from the neopets site]

-Damage can cancel itself out

False, Water stacks with Fire, Earth stacks with Fire.

-The lab ray can affect your pets height and weight.

Unconfirmed, TNT say some neggs do, but is not proven.

[Still under construction]

Damage stacking: You can stack all types of damage with each other,
this means fire DOES NOT cancel out water damage etc.
Some people say that physical damage gets a bonus when lots is stacked
together, however this seems unlikely.

Battle commands:

Fierce attack: 40% extra damage dealt, 40% extra damage recieved
Jump and attack: same as abouve but 30%
Normal attack: 0-0 No bonus damage, No bonus defence
Caucious attack: 10% less damage recived, 10% less damage
dealt.
Defend: Same as above except its 25%

Icon information:

Earth: common damage, easily blocked
Air: Semi-easy to block
Light: Powerful, yet blockable
Dark: Same as above
Water: Medium power, hard to block [the best Icon of damage]
Physical: Low [usually] damage, but harder to block than earth.

Battle dome 'language':

Grenade: single use, lots of damage [like honey potion]

HP: Hit points

Faerie abilities: abilities used in battle

PetPet: This is a very wierd one, the higher the level of your pets pet
the more damage it gives when used [Damage calculation is a percentage,
see battle commands section for more information.]

War: Not a real war! Its where you beat as many enemies as possible to
rack up points.

BFM: Battle for meridale, its the war.

TNT: The Neopets Team [Moderators of site]

BC: Battledome chat.

LDD: Lost desert dagger

LLB: Light Lightning Beam

ILB: Improved lightning beam

GLB: Grand lightning beam

not enabled - opponent not activated (possibly old war opponents)
(said they were not enabled yet)
??? - currently unknown (Didn't have access to the opponent)
(!) - unconfirmed (very likely, can't battle though)
! - retired (can't battle them)

Opponents 40-56 are most likely old war opponents... but i dont know which ones
 they are.
Eventually im guessing the numbers will increase as more opponents are added.

Ive already posted this on the gamefaqs neopets-general board for ppl who
dont look in FAQs.
