Introduction
----------------------------------
In the game of Netropolis the goal is to build your empire to be the best and
biggest and rule the map. How do you do that? Well you could try it the safe
and easy way using hostile takeovers, but what fun is that? We want bombs!
This guide will guide you through all sorts of nasty little tricks you can have
at your disposable. Provided you are willing to risk it...
If you are'nt there are always people who are. Which is why security plays such
an important role in the game.

1. Format

NOTE - The prices listed for both Dirty Tricks and Security and the prices of
fines may vary depending on the building the attack is being committed on.
Although Netropolis uses the British pound as currency I will be using the $
sign. It doesnt matter regarding the game, its just a convenience for me.
The following format is
Description - The games listed information for it
Level - The HQ level required to use the action.
Level 0/1 is when you start out.
Level 2 is when you have 50 actions.
Level 3 is when you have 150 actions and $150 000 CASH
Prices - The price range for the attacks. There is a maximum and minimum
amount for each trick. The prices for Security will be left out due to how
much it varies.
***NOTE - The prices for the dirty trick are how much they would cost
if played on:
A market stall ($1000 inital cost) for the minimum price.
Any $20 000 building for the maximum price.
These two were chosen because they are the most common range, TRICKS
CAN BE ABOVE THE LISTED PRICE, because it wouldnt be fair if bombing
a $500 000 building still only costed $10000 would it? :)

2. Dirty Tricks

General Notes - If caught you will have to pay a fine. The fines vary depending
on the building the trick is being played on and the trick attempted. However if
caught by security guards you will be beat up and sent to the hospital. The
hospital bill is equally priced as the jail fine you would have had to pay.
Plus if you get caught you'll get it written in stone in your police record
which anyone can see. In the game of Netropolis, bigger is better. Especially
for rap sheets.
Also note Police Strikes, during strikes you will NOT be arrested. It is a time
for chaos and anarchy, so its best to be online during those times to prevent
anyone from taking you out. I believe they happen once a week on a specific,
constant day.

-Graffiti Attack-
Description: Send the kids round to scrawl their delightfull little slogans
all over your opponents property.
Level: 0/1
Damage: 0
Price: $90 - $1800
Other: Graffiti Attacks are pretty much worthless. They're usually a
declaration of war, a way to gain actions or just to piss someone off.
-Smoke Bomb-
Description: Doesn't do much damage, but they won't get many customers either
Level: 0/1
Damage: 0
Price: $110 - $2200
Other: No damage, but it will place a biohazard sign outside the
building with gray smoke coming out and customers will flee the building,
meaning the buildings profit will suffer, Which can even cost the victim money.
-Stink Bomb-
Description: Doesn't do any damage, but all customers will flee the area
untill it's cleaned up.
Level: 0/1
Damage: 0
Price: $200 - $4000
Other: No damage, but it will also place a biohazard sign outside the
building with green smoke coming out and customers will flee the building,
meaning the buildings profit will suffer (even more than a smoke bomb would
cause), which can even cost the victim money.
-Cherry Bomb-
Description: Nice bang, lots of smoke but generally only minor structural
damage.
Level: 0/1
Damage: 30%
Prices: $220 - $4400
Other: Best choice for new players, 4 of these and the building will
be at your mercy. It can get expensive but its the best choice seeing as all
the other starter dirty tricks do no damage at all.
-Fire Bomb-
Description: Doesn't do much damage initially, but if left unchecked it can
destroy buildings and spread acrosss the map, very dangerous.
Level: 2
Damage: 40% +
Prices: $300 - $6000
Other: Initially it does 40% damage to the building, without sprinklers
or fire extinguishers the fire will continue until someone (Doesnt have to be
the buildings owner) puts it out for a price of $200. As the fire continues the
damage will increase and spread across to other buildings. Not the best choice
for beginners, because other players will seek revenge if you damage their
buildings. Unless thats what you want :)
-Cluster Bomb-
Description: Far more punch for your money than a normal cherry bomb, the
cluster bomb can do some major hurt to a building.
Level: 3
Damage: 50%
Prices: $350 - $7000
Other: Mainly used for hurting another competitor. It doesnt serve
much of a use to gain properties, its used to take a building down to 50%
health and force the competitor to lose money. If done on a massive number
of buildings and left for several hours it is enough to force a company
into bankrupty, leaving it wide open for a new up and coming business ;)
-Destruction Bomb-
Description: The destruction bomb, the closest you can get to a nuke
without actually splitting the atom. This baby will take out most
buildings in one.
Level: 3
Damage: 100%
Prices: $520 - $10400
Other: Ah the D-Bomb, where would we be without you? This bomb
packs a massive punch, usually enough to obliterate any building. This
is the main reason to reach level 3, once you have the D-Bomb you can
take any building in one foul swoop and lessen your chances of being
arrested since it will no longer take 3-4 bombs to take it out. The
most important bomb in Netropolis and heavily relied on, which is why
security is a must for worthy buildings. One of these and you're dead
-Screamer Missile-
Description: With a piercing scream this little beauty will blast
across the city punching small holes in anything it hits.
Note: arial attack, avoids ground based security
Level: 3 (Cities)
Damage: 30%
Prices: $350 - $7000
Other: The level required is 3, but you also need a Hi-Tech center
in order to play the trick. The trick is available immediately.
-Shark Attack-
Description: Doesn't do any damage, but no-ones going to go near the
water while he's in there (da dum music available as an extra).
Level: 3 (?) (Cities)
Damage: 0%
Prices: $10 500
Other: This trick can only be played on Swimming Pools, it does
no damage, but it does basically ruin the buildings profits into the
ground. It can only be played on one building type so the price is fixed
at $10 500.
-Poo Catapult-
Description: The poo catapult, a fiendishly medieval device designed
for long range poo delivery. Horendous for any business that depends on
a good clean image. Note: arial attack, avoids ground based security
Level: 3 (Cities)
Damage: 0%
Prices: $5000
Other: Its the same as Graffiti Attacks and Smoke/Stink bombs
except a better version of it. Really destroys the profits of any
building. Instead of the usual price range I just put $5000 because the
chances of you seeing a building that costs less than $20 000 in a city
just wont happen. And if it does, it will be gone very soon.
-Tactical Nuke-
Description: The big one, the main missile, the mother of all bangs...
this baby really hurts. Use exceptional caution when unwrapping this one.
Note: orbital attack, avoids all security
Level: 3 (The description says 4-5 but its actually 3) (Cities)
Damage: 100% to a square portion of the map
Prices: $20 000 000
Other: Oh boy! The most damaging thing you could lay your hands on
in the game of Netropolis. Initially you can either choose to launch a
missile and aim it at the city YOU want to attack, or fund another persons
missile attack aimed at the city of their choice. You need 4 other users to
donate at least $10 each to fund the missile. You can pay the other
$19 999 960 if you want, as long as you have at least 4 others involved. To
donate to another users nuke fund simply go to the 'Secret Warehouse' link
in your HQ or to add more money into your own nuke fund. (And yes, the game
does misspell the word "tactical")

3. Security

-Security Cameras-
Description: Perfect for passing those candid camera moments on to your
local police force.
Level: 0
Other: The WORST security in the game. Unless its for a market stall
dont even bother getting it. The chances for catching someone is pretty low and
anyone in the game is willing to risk it. The cameras wont stop the trick from
getting played, but the perpetrator will get caught and sent to jail.
-Guard Dogs-
Description: The perfect in startup home security, cheap and easy to keep
they'll always give much worse than they get.
Level: 0
Other: Averagely priced, and very effective. Only the real risk takers
would mess with the dogs. Great for averagely priced buildings such as Burger
Bars. The dogs also stop the trick from being played so the trick will be
unsuccessful and the dogs will hold the perp until the police arrive.
-Security Guards-
Description: Employ these nasty psycopaths to give your security that
personal touch. Guaranteed to hospitalise any tresspassers.
Level: 1
Other: Fairly expensive, but worth it for the more expensive buildings
such as hotels. Hardly anyone in a town will take their chances with the guards,
but in cities it's about the equivalent of guard dogs. If they catch the perp
they'll beat them up. They wont get sent to jail, instead they'll be sent to
the hospital. The hospital bill is the same as the fine they would have had to
pay.
-Sprinklers-
Description: Protect your property from the devastation of fire, not 100%
effective but close.
Level: 1
Other: Sprinklers dont stop a trick from being played but they will
reduce the damage from fire bombs and will put out the fire so no further
damage can be done. Its also an added bonus because if nearby buildings are on
fire it will also keep your building from being hurt.
-Fire Extinguishers-
Description: Protect your property from those pesky fires with these handy
tins.
Level: 1
Other: Fire Extinguishers dont stop a trick from being played. They
have the same advantages as sprinklers, but due to their cheaper cost, are much
less effective.

4. General Strategies
----------------------------------
----------------------------------
- When first starting out if you want to gain properties by dirty tricks then
use 4 cherry bombs. Graffiti Attacks, Stink and Smoke Bombs do nothing. Using
4 cherry bombs is the cheapest most effective way.
OR
If you'd rather save a little bit of money, use 2-3 cherry bombs when first
starting out, wait for the next update (it happens every 5-10 minutes), the
price of the building will have dropped severely. This is only the most cost
effective way if there is security on the buildings, by using only 2-3 cherry
bombs you have less chances of getting arrested, when you takeover the
building you will save some money, and when you renovate it you save a bit of
money rather than just having to rebuild the whole thing.
- After reaching level 2, use a fire bomb followed by 2 cherry bombs. Cheaper
than using 4 cherry bombs and will cut your chances of being arrested.
- Or if you want, fire bomb the building once and leave it, much like the
cherry bomb strategy. Only one bomb is necessary, cutting your chances of
being arrested even more and saves money, however there is a downside. By
using fire bombs and leaving it you leave other nearby buildings open to the
damage (including yours), which is a great way to make enemies.
- Someone making you mad? Want revenge? Cluster bombs are your solution. One
cluster bomb per property is a great way to force your competitor to lose
money. Why a cluster bomb and not a fire bomb? Cluster bombs do more damage
per bomb and do not leave nearby buildings open to fire, so your target is
the only one who will suffer. Plus they work right away, instead of like a
fire bomb which takes time to destroy the building, plus sprinkers or fire
extinguishers cannot stop the damage.
- At level 3, the only way you should gain properties is D-Bombs. Cheaper
than multiple bombs, less chance of getting arrested, and instant
destruction.
- Screamers are not worth it for beginners. The required building is a
Hi-Tech Facility, which costs $500 000. Why so expensive? Because screamers
cannot be stopped by security. Although their damage is weak they are not
needed in a town. Chances are if someone sees a Hi-Tech Facility in a town
they will bomb it to prevent getting screamered. They are too expensive,
easily targeted, wont work if they get damaged, and just generally not
needed. It takes a few screamers to take out a building, you are better off
just destruction bombing a building with no security. Screamers should only
be used in cities where they can actually save you money.
- Dont go nuts with bombs, only bomb what you need. This may be the most
important thing you should remember in Netropolis. Bombing properties you
cant afford to keep up is just bad for you. It not only puts a strain on
your resources, it also makes you several enemies.
