Peasant's Quest 150/150 Solution

This guide may be butchered, redestribited, printed, photocopied,
burninated in ritual sacrifice, and other fun stuff. I just want
to be recognized for getting 150 points before anyone else jumped
up to the challenge of making a walkthrough.

Expect Spoilers, this is a walkthrough isn't it?

Peasant's Quest is a game by Videlectrix and Homestarruner.com,
August 2004

Upon talking to the guard at the begining of the game, you learn
that you have to be appear as a real peasant before you can face
Trogdor, which requires you dress, smell, and be on fire like a
real peasant. Until then, you need to take care of a few things.

If you return to your burninated cottage, you can find a piece of
paper there which turns out to be a map. At any time you can use
this map by typing "MAP" in the prompt. This will only reveal
locations already explored, so you will have some walking to do.
Watch out for the Kerrek while doing this, you'll die if he gets
near you.

First thing to do on your Road to 150 is to go to the cottage with
4 crunch berry bushes (this can be found 2 screens right and one
screen down from your cottage). Open the door and walk in. Talk to
the woman and she'll tell you that her riches were stolen by the
Jhonka and she wants them back. While inside get some chicken
feed (1 point). When you leave she'll inform you that there's
something she lost in the yard, and you can have it if you find it.
Get the berries from all four bushes, and you will stumble upon the
Super Trinket (2 points).

Moving one screen up, you come to the lake with the innkeeper
fishing in a boat. Use the chicken feed in order to help him out
with his catches (2 points).

Move one screen left and pick up the pebbles on the beach (1 point).
For the sake of it, Type "THROW BABY" in the prompt to learn how
much of a cheater you are.

Move one screen up to find an archery range. Move to the counter
and talk to the archer. He'll ask you to tell his brother "haldo"
if you see him (2 points).

Move up one screen (walk between the counter and the last target)
to find a well. Turning the crank does nothing, so throw the
pebbles into the bucket (2 points). Turn the crank this time
to get the Monster Maskus.

Careful moving on. You might get lucky and just move 2 screens
left, but you might run into the Kerrek. The safe route is to
move one screen down, two screens left, and one screen up. This
will lead you to the horse Poor Gary. Wear the mask, and watch
Poor Gary run... poor Gary.... (2 points).

Move one screen left into the hole that Poor Gary made. You enter
a hidden glen (check you map, it's so hidden that it's not listed).
Just talking to this archer does nothing. Say "HALDO" to him, and
he'll move on out to the archery range (3 points). Before you
leave, grab an arrow (2 points).

Head back to the archery range (safest route being: 1 screen
right, 1 screen down, 2 screens right). Talk to the archers and
they will tell you they need a super item for them to let you
test your skills. Give them the Super Trinket, and they'll let
you play as many times as you need (2 points).

In order to win the archery game, you have to hit 3 bullseyes.
The flag in the background will help you adjust for the wind.
When the wind is strong, aim the arrow on the outer edge of the
blue ring. When the wind is weak, aim the arrow on the inner
edge of the blue ring. When the wind is dead still, aim streight
at the bullseye. Make sure that your power gauges both hit the
red mark, otherwise you'll miss. Winning this mini-game gives
you the SuperTime FunBow TM (3 points).

Now you can take on the Kerrek. You can either move one screen
left and one screen up, or two screens up, but for the sake of
this walkthrough, we'll go one screen left and one screen up.
Make sure you enter near the left side of the screen to distance
yourself from the Kerrek. You can type out "SHOOT KERREK" and
leave it in the prompt before entering the screen if you are a
slow typist, but however you do it, shoot the Kerrek (5 points).
If the Kerrek doesn't appear at first, walk one screen away and
come back, he'll eventually appear. When the Kerrek is dead,
it will start raining. Before leaving the scene, take the
Kerrek's belt, this will make you smell like peasant (10 points).

Move one screen down and you'll see the cracked dry mud
puddle is now moist again. Walk over it to slip and be covered
with mud (2 points).

Move one screen left and you'll find a hay bale. You're not
any kind of Thy Dungeonman, so don't bother taking any hay.
Instead hide inside the hay bale (3 points).

Move one scren down to find the Jhonka and his riches. The
Jhonka is remarkibly stupid, so he won't notice you stealing
his riches while wearing the hay bale. The hay will be whisked
away by the wind, and Jhonka will ask you if you took his riches.
Just say "NO", he really is that stupid (7 points).

Move 3 screens right and one screen down back to the cottage with
the crunch berries. Go inside and give the woman the riches. Boy,
what a schumk you must feel like, she takes all the riches, and
dumps a baby on you (5 points).

Leave the cottage, and head one screen up and one screen right.
Enter the inn, since the innkeeper isn't fishing anymore. Try
to give the baby to the innkeeper, and he will try to give the
baby his pills, which you promptly take for yourself (5 points).

Leave the inn, and head two screens left. Now you can throw the
baby into the lake. The baby will come back with a bottle of
soda (5 points).

Move up two screens back to the well. Throw the baby in the
bucket (3 points). Turn the crank to get the baby back and a
meatball sub (2 points).

Move two screens left and one screen up to a cottage with no door
and shotty stonework. Move away one of the stones (2 points).
You can't crawl through there, but your resourceful baby will help
you out. Use the baby, and he'll knock over a broom which will
force the door open. You baby then runs off never to be seen
again (5 points). Go inside to the bare cottage and open the
dresser. Get the robe you find inside (10 points). Close the
dresser (1 point).

Move 4 screens right and one screen up to head back to the inn.
Go ahead and put on the robe you just got to look like a
peasant(3 points). Open the door and go inside. Get a room from
the innkeeper (3 points). It will be nightfall and the pantry
door will be open. Get the grease from the top shelf, and it will
fall on your head (2 points). Because you have a pot on your head
now, the controls are messed up. I won't go into the confusing
details that down is left, left is down, up is right and right
is up, so just try to work your way outside (3 points).

Head down one screen, and you'll find the lantern is lit.
Walk past the lantern, you'll get such a grease fire... like
a peasant(10 points).

Move up 2 screens and talk to the guard, who will let you
now pass since you look, smell, and are on fire like a
peasant (7 points).

Move into the mountain pass to the right. Ignore the thing
about the diskette, it's a joke, there is no read error; gotta
love the nostalgic days of the Apple][e. Now would be a very
good time to save, because it is fairly simple to die here.
Climb the cliff, and rocks will immediately start falling.
They usually tend to stay away from the center of the cliff,
but still look out for them, they fall at random. The top is
only 3 screens away (3 points).

When you reach the top, enter the cave. Head right and you
will be stopped by the keepers of Trogdor. You can answer
each of their trivia questions, or just give them their
requested item; both give you the same points. The trivia
questions are random, and if you guess wrong, you lose the
game. The items they want in order are the meatball sub,
the soda, and the pills. You will then recieve the
Trog-Shield (5 points), the Trog-Helm (5 points), and
the Trog-Sword (5 points). Head right, into the beaded curtains.

You are now in the den of Trogdor the Burninator.
Even asleep he is deadly, so don't get close to him,
just throw the sword at him (2 points). Trogdor wakes
up, unharmed by the Trog-Sword. You are left with nothing
left to do but talk to Trogdor, who has a nicely
digitized voice (10 points).

Congrats, if you did everything right, you should have won
the game with 150 points out of 150 points.

Extra things to note:

At the scene with the wavy tree, you can see a fairly naked
man appear for no reason. Talking to him scare off.

By the end of the game, if you followed the walkthrough
correctly there will be one item left for you to find.
It's a joke, it doesn't exist.

I have done what I thought was these exact steps once and
only received 149 of 150 points. I may have just goofed,
and forgot a minor detail, as I repeatedly receive 150 of
150 points with these steps. If you feel you were shorted
points, please hang up the phone and try your call again.
