"Insanely addictive"

Kingdom of Loathing is and incredibly addictive game. It is free even though you can give donations, which help keep it free. This game gives you so much for the price of air. Kingdom of Loathing puts Gameplay over Graphics.

Story: 9/10
The Kingdom of Loathing was a place where the people were friendly and cheerful. Until a Naughty Sorceress came and took over and threw the king in jail. Now it's up to you and Adventurer to stop her, like it or not. At first you are the Toot's Disciple, after that you are the Councils errand boy. So be brave adventurer and face your destiny

Graphics: 8/10
The graphics are very basic stick figure drawings. Even though they are extremely basic art form, they get the message across extremely good. The childish look doesn't hurt the game at all. Instead they are actually good for the overall concept of the game.

Gameplay: 9/10
Gameplay is king in KOL, when you first sign up you get 80 adventures to use. Which will help you get started on the game. After that you get 40 adventures every day afterwards. Adventures are what you use to well adventure outside of the town. Different things can give a few more adventures to use. These things are special items, food and beverages (mainly the consumption of alcohol). The game in turn-based, In battles you and your opponent take turns attacking each other. If you win you pick up Meat (game currency) and other items. You get 3 stats that you have to raise in order to level up. These stats are Muscle (make you hit harder), Mysticality (increase MP and makes MP moves stronger), and Moxie (makes you harder to hit). The one you need to level up depends on what kind of character you are. Muscle- Dominant in muscle, Mysticality- Dominant in Magic, and Moxie-Dominant in Moxie.

Contact with other players: 10/10
This is what the game is built upon. KOL has a very friendly community that offers help and answers to your questions. But instead of outright telling you answers they will make you think by having a hint inside of a haiku. Contact with over players is spread in different ways. One is the in-game chat feature, which allows you to communicate with others as you play the game. Another way is with the private messaging system, which allows you to trade items with your new found friends in KOL. Next up are the forums where you can go to just relax and chat about your adventures and misadventures, even how much you hate RNG. There is even a place for all you flamers in the forums called The Ring of Flame where you can flame all you want. When you reach Level 3, you can then join the clan of your choosing. Where you can talk to others and get better help then you would outside the clan, since you can get stuff out of the Clan Goodies. Do You Want to see how much better you've gotten compared to someone else? Well then PvP is perfect for you! As you can attack and get stuff from other players.

Final Ruling: 9/10
Such fun most Online games just don't have. Remember to use your adventures wisely and that you are always at the mercy of the RNG. “An Adventurer is you”
