Sega 32X

"Decent system that failed....miserably."

This was a decent system. Sega wasted there time,effort and money with this system. I personally like it, but it failed miserably.The Sega Saturn was already released in Japan when this came out in America. Nobody really gave the Sega 32X much attention since the Saturn was approaching its release.

Graphics - 5/10

Bad for a 32 bit system. Some games like WWF Raw and Shadow Squadron look more like Sega Genesis games. Games that slightly look 32 bit are Doom and Knuckles Chaotic. Virtua Fighter has some of the worst 3D graphics you will ever see. The characters look like they were poorly carved from a block of wood. Everything in that game is blocky, definitely disturbs the game play. The graphics of the 32X were better than the Genesis but worse than the Saturn. Still, bad graphics doesn't mean bad games.

Sound - 7/10

What? Playing Doom without an angry face is impossible. The sound is very crunchy. The music sounds like it was being sung from a robot. Doom is pretty bad with sound but games like Knuckles and Motocross are quite impressive. I would say the system itself has good enough sound.

Game Selection - 8/10

The game selection is good enough. Games that I strongly recommend are Golf Magazine: 36 Great Holes starring Fred Couples,Virtua Fighter,Doom and Knuckles Chaotic. I play Golf Magazine way to much, it's most likely the greatest Golf game I ever played. More than half the levels are missing in Doom but it's still fairly fun. Motocross is an amazing racing game with a multi-player feature which adds on to the fun.

Overall Score - 7/10

This system is worth 25 dollars at most. This is a good system, but it had a very short life span. The worst part of this system is that you need to plug it in to your Sega Genesis, and it runs on it's own power adapter. The one good thing about the hardware is that it uses the same controllers you use to play a Sega Genesis. So remember to have a Sega Genesis before buying a 32X.
