"Lemme slip off my shoes here..."

Here is review #3 for me, here. I decided to review a game that only I seem to like, and a quite obscure one as well. When I purchased a 3DO off eBay for around $80 with about 15 games, this game was a big enigma to me. I'd seen reviews in EGM, but what did *I* think once I started playing it? Here we go...

Story: 8/10
Basically, you are a futuristic cab driver out to do your job in your souped-up cab. Imaginative, and interesting.

Graphics: 4/10
This game's graphics are very pixelated and are rather hard to look at. Sometimes, things kind of get washed out, and it distracts beyond belief when there are a lot of things on-screen. If not for the radar, you might confuse a possible fare for a ghost or monster and shoot him until his pixelated blood spills all over the place.

Control: 6/10
The control is pretty decent, but as the view is always from inside the vehicle, the control seems to be really iff and random when you are next to a wall, and the car seems to skid a lot.

Sound/Music: 5/10
The country and rock music got on my nerves, and the sound effects seemed a little 8-bit and not really CD quality.

Gameplay: 7/10
There is really a lot of stuff going on. You pick people up, make money, upgrade your weapons, kill ghosts, jump around, and a lot of other things. Really cool stuff.

Replay Value: 3/10
After beating the game, you don't have much more to do besides do it all over again.

Features/Modes: 2/10
You get a language select and much little else.

Difficulty: 7/10
My way for calculating difficulty is ''Amount of skill required'' - ''cheapness''. This comes out to a 7 in my eyes.

Fun Factor: 7/10
It's a fun game to pick up whenever I get tired of my GCN and PS2 for a while.

Overall: Averaged, this stuff comes out to a 5, but since it is a 3DO game, I will skew my score in comparison to other 3DO games. So, I'll add a point, and call it a 6.

Buy/Rent?
Since you can't rent 3DO games, anywhere, ever, that's out. But if you just happen to own a 3DO and thought to yourself ''Hmm, how did they think to do taxi games before Crazy Taxi was perfected?'', this game would likely cost very little off of various web sites. Spend a few bucks and take a look at this interesting game.
