Demolition Man

"Just like being in the movie, almost as entertaining too."

I played this game way back in 1996. I recently just Re-Purchased a 3do and this game aged horribly.

In 1996 I would of given it a 9/10 but now its more like a 6/10.

I'll do my best to review it trying to think back too 1996.

Graphics-8/10-This game still looks very good and looked awesome back in 1996.(or 1994 when it was made) The best part about this game is FMV straight from a very good movie (my opinion anyway) It also has special FMV made just for this game, I personally think the new stuff is cheap and tacked on but at least 2 big time actors (Stallone and Snipes) volunteered anyway. What nice guys.

The nicest looking part about this game is the shooting sequences. It looks really good because its real people pasted on real backgrounds, so it looks real. Lots of re-used actors so your shooting the same guys over and over again.

I personally never liked the 3D graphics from the 32 Bit Playstatio/Saturn/3DO Era. I personally thought blockiness was always ugly so the driving and FPS parts of this game are ugly.

The Fighting sequences are kind of nice but have really bad animations and stunt doubles.

Sound 9/10- This game has a great soundtrack. One of my favorites ever. The sound effects are reused a lot but its no big deal. Pheonix even says ''Yohoo'' and ''Simon says blee''. Pretty cool.

Game Play-2/10-Heres where we run into problems. The shooting sequences are nice, even better if you had a gun controller. The fighting,FPS and driving sequences are horrible. Eben back in the day I thought it controlled like crap. It looked so good that I probably ignored it but now I've seen some ''nicer'' games and its really a horrible controlling game.

Fun Factor 4/10- This game is decently fun when you are playing the shooting sequences. Other then that the other parts are horrible and worth playiing if you like this movie.

COnclusion-This is a really ambitious game. It really tried to put you in the role of Stallone but falls short because only 1/4 sequences is fun.

Im really harsh on the game but it is $4.00. If you are one of those gamers who can appreciate old school you will probably like this game because it really was ahead of anything at the time. (once again it was made in 93/94)

Fans of the movie should also find some enjoyment out of this one. Im glad I got it again.
