Alone in the Dark 2

"Yep, this is better then the first, only just"

Introduction
Well, looking back on memories, I remembered good old Alone in the Dark 1, then finding out that there was another new Alone in the Dark {well now its not to new } I had to play it, or at least get a test run. It was ok I guess, the story was good and once again kept you entertained.

Graphics
Yes the graphics have improved, but no, they are not as good as the games of today, example Silent Hill 3 {Shivers.} Now the characters are more realistic instead of looking like robots. That is a very good improvement. The facial expressions aren't weird anymore, now they are funny and should be improved.

Game Play and Story
Like the first Alone in the Dark, Alone in the Dark 2 is a fun game which is easy to get addicted to and have fun with. You should enjoy meeting up with your old friend the private eye and get more books to read so the story will slowly come to plan.

The story been similar to the first one in some ways, the setting been in another haunted mansion. This time a young girl has been kidnapped and it is your job as the private eye once again to save the girl who is in a haunted mansion. Once again there will be twists in the plot which will honestly surprise you and make you want to continue the game until you have clocked it.

Controls
Guns! Finally guns are a more important in this game, which I personally think is a better feature. The controls have changed around a bit to suit the needs of the way guns are used. That is not a problem because once again, the controls are most definitely adaptable. So there are no problems here.

Sounds
The sounds are basically what destroys the so called ‘scary atmosphere' to the game. There are no more scary sounds, or there will be attempts to make scary sounds which mainly end up as failures.

Rent or Buy
My conclusion of Alone in the Dark is that it is a game which lost the horror feeling, but it still turned out to be a game which I really enjoyed playing. So now on to the next category, should you buy Alone in the Dark 2 or rent? I managed to find the game and still managed to enjoy it, so I think you should buy it. However if you think you can find a place which will allow you to borrow such a old game, you can do that….. good luck finding it though.
