Beany Bopper

"An interestingly addictive game."

Awhile back while searching for some SNES games in my brothers room I came upon his old 2600 and a whole wack of games. Interestingly this one was the first one I decided to play and interestingly enough, ITS FUN! I don't really know what the game is about but there is something about being an olived shape hero that is absolutely amazing!

Graphics 6/10
You aren't really supposed to expect much from here. You're this weird olive shaped thing that flies around and shoots weird floaty alien head things, some blocks fall too, not too impressive, but still interesting try to guess what those weird people things are. For some reason though I liked it when everything started to change colours like a 1960s acid trip, THAT was pretty neat.

Sound 5/10
Some interesting sounds from the sounds of shooting, other then that headache inducing repeating sounds. It all sounds good, unfortunately it isn't something you really want to hear, also you get this weird BOOING sound when you run into blocks that are coming down it didn't really belong there.

Gameplay 10/10
I don't know why I kept playing but I couldn't stop, it gets crazy when the pink flying head thingys start going super fast and that is awsome! Thank goodness these magic blocks come down from the heavens and protect you from the flying pink head thingys. There were also these strange swords that came out of the top and if you collect them you get bonus points which leads to you making decisions like should I try to reach the sword or protect myself from the enemies. Very fun and very addicting gameplay that should NOT be missed.

This game was amazing and still is, unfortunately it is farely unknown and didn't get the respect it deserved. In the end I will still be playing it for a long time and, hell, getting the high score and getting friends to try and beat it is pretty fun! When looking for your Atari 2600 keep your eye out for Beany Bopper, it should not be missed by anyone.
Yes I know I overused the word interesting throughout the review but man this game is just interesting!
