Review by Larcen Tyler

"I need scissors! 61!"

Before I start, let me tell you that this game has nothing to do with Marvel's uncanny group of superheroes! In fact, this game has nothing to do with comics of any kind. What this game has to do with is in the vein of Custer's Revenge! Yes, it's another one of those extremely rare but still infamous adult video games released for the Atari 2600! What it is is an extremely perverted rip-off of classic maze games, and while to some it may look amusing, the truth is this game isn't worth it whatsoever!

Graphics: 4/10
So why a four, you ask? Well even for Atari 2600 standards, the graphics are drawn in a rather detailed manner. How is that, you ask? Unfortunately, I can't go into detail or else this review wouldn't be accepted. The enemies you encounter are simple enough, but your player character looks really deformed, but the truth is once you play it you'll understand what the whole thing is about!

Sounds: 1/10
Very little in terms of the sound department. Nothing more than a few simple beeps and bleeps. I know this is Atari, but come on, even the good old 2600 is capable of more than this simple stuff! Another black mark for this game!

Controls: 1/10
OK so moving around a maze dodging things like scissors and chattering teeth?! OK, that sounds easy enough. Whoa, wait a second, the mazes are arranged so that there's only one path and very few places to hide! To top that off, those darn scissors and other enemies always seem to patrol each and every route, so no matter what you do, you always end up getting killed! Ugh! This is ridiculous!

In the rare instance you finish the level, you enter a bonus round where you must tap the joystick back and forth at the right times to earn a bonus in the time limit. Why tapping the joystick? I can't state that on here either, or else I'll really get my head handed to me!

Replay: 1/10
Is there really any reason to play this game more than once? Personally, I can't think of one! It's just the same things, first the maze then the bonus round, then lather rinse and repeat! Personally, if I want fun in a maze, I'll stick with Pac-Man!

Overall: 1/10
Let's face it, the X-Men never had a chance to appear on the good old Atari 2600, and it's a shame too, as I'm sure many people would've liked to see at least one of them on this system. As it is, this game should've been banned due to copyright infringements in addition to being an adult title! Stick with Maze Craze or Pac-Man for fun in a maze, but this one should be locked deep in a labyrinth far away! Just look out for those scissors!
