"I'm a Geek, I played Sneak N' Peek"

I'm a Geek, I played Sneak N' Peek...
Ok, so the Synopsis was a little lame, but the point is, if you find yourself having fun playing this game for over 10 minutes, you must have never even heard of Tetris. Sad to say, this game was pretty lame... Yep, it was bad...

The game is two-player, and only two-player. This is good for a change. It isn't too common to find a 2-Player Atari 2600 game in which the players play semi-simultaneously with 2 controllers. Basically the game is set up like hide-and-go-seek in which the two players alternate between roles to satisfy each other. I remember always getting pissy when I was chosen ''it.'' I would often look around the houses of my neighborhood in just about every location only to come back and find my ''friends'' sitting there laughing. Then it was done again, and I would come back to find them gone, finally realizing that they ditched me. What terrible friends I had. Probably what made be the way I am today. I was always a good boy! Always did my homework... helped my friends... stood up for the local comic book store owner after a little dilemma... Why was I so nice and loyal to my friends?! They would have never done that for me dammit!!!

That is probably what you might find while playing Sneak N' Peek. The first player that has to count must close their eyes. They must literally close their eyes to prevent them from seeing where the hider is hiding in this pixelated house. The hider, or, ''sneeker,'' must walk around the house like an idiot and find a place to hide. I have found 4 or 5 different hiding places in this whole damn mansion!!! You have the choice of: the box, the couch, the bed, the backyard, or the invisible thing. I have no clue as to why or how there is an invisible thing you can hide behind, but its there. There are two beds, one in each bedroom, a box in one of the rooms, a couch in the living room, and the front door leads to the backyard. While looking for a hiding spot, a timer is ticking away.

Once the hider is finished being an imbecile, the seeker must find him in the amount of time it took the hider to hide. It goes back and forth like this. Pretty boring. The only fun thing is seeing the seeker run out of time when you are hiding. The seeker, surprisingly, gets pretty pissed off after this, so I guess the game holds some of the hide-and-seek spirit. Of course my friend is pretty mad all the time so that may not be the case with this game. Every time I played the seeker, I seemed to have always found him, and it's pretty fun having an excuse for calling him an idiot for finding such useless spots to hide behind. Just like old times except now I am the master, and I have the power! Hide-n'-go-seek has never been so much fun for me! I can now experience the power and rank of being a seeker, and not cry about it! I have decided to change my feelings towards those old imbeciles of mine. I can see why they were like this. It wasn't them who were evil. The power of seeking and destroying their prey made them act this way, and I forgive them.

The graphics were pretty good. The mansion looked really good, and the intro was nicely done. A standard 10 second intro consisting of the two players walking into a house to play hide and seek. The various objects in the house were decent, but the rooms were too boring. They needed more to them.

I don't mean to get on the subtle, disgusting side you often hear from reviewers indirectly, but the characters were a little bit flawed in ways most people nowadays would right off the bat condemn as being another Custer's Revenge. What most would think of as a reproductive organ of the male, is actually an arm. I think. That sounded a little strange; let me try again: The characters' arms seen from a side view are protruding a little lower than where the arm usually is found. When I first tried this game, I was almost positive this was another sick pornographic game gay couples could play together. There's nothing wrong with that, its just not my preference, and even if you were gay, I still don't see the fun in playing this crap. I finally came to the conclusion that it is an arm, and I would like to keep it that way.

Oh, and the characters have no faces! I found it kinda strange... :x

As for the music and sound... I don't recall there being any... If there was, I guess it was ok, because I didn't pay any attention to it which is good.

Conclusion: 3/10

Did I mention the mansion looks really neat? Well, it does, but that's all this game really has to offer aside from the first few rounds you can play with a friend. It could use a few more hiding places and brighter rooms, not to mention a bathroom. The characters need major work on, and I mustn't get into that. I have been trying my hardest not to speak of such things in a Gamefaqs review, as it can be pretty controversial at times, heh heh.

Sneak N' Peek has it's moments, but it really isn't worth it. However... I would probably give it the title as the best hide n' go seek video game as of this point ever only after making sure there aren't any others. I guess I'll take it's word and just give it the damn title, the poor game will never make it without some kind of recognition! If you have paid close attention, I have spelled Hide N' Seek differently every time! Woah!

Well, I think that wraps it up. I need sleep. Onto my pixel bed I go, in my pixel house, next to my pixel box... watching my pixel invisible thing... Oh geez...
