"A great game but fails to meet the first"

I loved Pitfall!, but something was missing in this sequel. I usually don't complain about sequels but this one needed something else to the mix. The first one was great but this one fails to match up with its greatness. But don't get me wrong this game is still good. Oh just stop reading the introduction and read the review.

Story 1/10 (just like the first one)
Well the story hasn't changed from the bad story the first one had. However you are now in a jungle/cavern which is kind of cool. Plus you are still the famous character,Pitfall Harry. But how did you get in the jungle...nobody knows. The rest of the game is pretty good through.

Graphics 8/10
For some reason I love the graphics on all of the Atari 2600 games, they are unique in their own way. Even though the graphics are nothing compared to the graphic technology we have today they are awesome all the same. Again the graphics are pixels are put together but you can still make out what you're up against next. For example if you had to climb down a latter and dodge a scorpion you know what's what. Overall the graphics for this game are pretty good considering it's an Atari 2600 game.

Sound 2/10
All Atari 2600 games are known for their lack of sound and music (not that I'm complaining I love Atari 2600 games). All that you basically hear is the sound of Harry jumping and when you do so it makes kind of a ping sound.

Game play 9/10
Whoa! The game play on the sequel remains the same as it was with the first. With a little twist but I'll get to that later. The basics are running from wild animals or dangerous obstacles, and jumping over obstacles. Now the twist is instead of just going through the jungle like in the first one you can pick up bars of gold to give you extra points. The game play will not let you down!

Challenge 7/10
Unlike the first one this has a bit more challenge to it. For example to get to more gold bars you might have to cross more obstacles or find a way how to get over to it. With the fact to even finish the level you must avoid obstacles as well.

Replay 8/10
The replay on this is pretty good. In fact it's one of the games that you can never get tired with.

Overall for those who don't pay attention
Story 1/10
Graphics 8/10
Sound 2/10
Game Play 9/10
Challenge 7/10
Replay 8/10
The final score is........7/10 (not an average)

Buy or Miss?
Buy! Just like the first game this game deserves to be in every gamers collection.
