"An awesome game that proves that the Atari is woth owning"
This is my first review. I think that this game is awesome. Read on if you don't understand.
Story: (10/10) You are a warlord. You block the ball from hitting your castle using a paddle. I guess the ball could be a cannon ball or a magic ball. If this ball infiltrates to the center of your base, you failed at your job. But infiltrate everyone else's base, and you shall succeed. I made up this little story so those that need to know their motivation understand. I don't have the manual, so I can't quote it.
Game Play: (10/10) This is the cutting edge, for the Atari. You are a castle paddle. There are 4 castles. You send a little ball around a screen. You use the paddle to block the ball. Like pong, with 4 paddles. The castle's walls get injured (lose a piece of the wall) if hit. If the ball reaches inside your castle, you lose. It's really fun if you have a few Atari fans that are your friends also playing. I spent 3 hours in a single sitting as an average. Once I spent 7 hours alone. It's at a very relaxed pace. You can talk, drink some Coca-Cola, and still play and win. They also have many game modes. I would recommend trying to find the manual, other wise it would be confusing trying to figure out which number does what.
If you're slightly confused: Think Breakout and Pong had a slightly mutated baby.
Graphics: (10/10) What do you except from Atari 2600? They are the cutting edge, though. All the castles have a color with different shades. The different colors help identify which castle guard you are, for those that lose track easily. If you are graphically obsessed, then you should not get this and pick up the newest Final Fantasy game or whatever.
Sound: (9/10) Beep, Beep Bop. Atari noises are here. Great for people that love Pong's beautiful sounds (like me). The castle destroy sound is a bit weak. Otherwise, you may want to play some music or just converse with your friends. If you hate Pong noises, then mute your television.
Controls: (10/10) Use the paddle to block the ball. You can grab the ball by holding in the button.
Value: (10/10) If you have friends, an Atari, and 2 paddle plug-in things, it's awesome. I could waste more time if I'd pull it out and set it up. In time, I may play it again. If you hate it, then that is your opinion. This review is about my opinion though.
Buy/Borrow: I would say buy, but if you have a friend who has all of the stuff, borrow from him/her. Then decide if you want the game. The Atari 2600 is getting cheap, so it may be better just to buy the stuff off eBay.
