---------------------------------
1. Introduction
---------------------------------
Welcome to my NFL2K FAQ/Walkthrough. I have posted everything that I could
think of to make your NFL2K experience more fun. I covered way more than any
other FAQ made for this game. If you are thinking of buying NFL2K I
strongly suggest you buy it because it is the best football game ever. If
you want to find any of my other FAQs then go to GameFAQs (www.gamefaqs.com)
because that is where and only where my FAQs are posted. Feel free to send
any e-mail you want regarding this FAQ. I respond to your e-mail in 12-24
hours.

---------------------------------
2. Update History
---------------------------------
January 14, 2000 - Welcome to the new year. I decided to start the new year
off by opening this FAQ up. I will make weekly updates like I use to. I
haven't updated this thing for a long time and I still get more e-mail on
this, then on any of my other FAQs. To start off I have updated the My
Other FAQs/Walkthroughs Section. Also, make sure you visit my new website
at: http://drethug.onlytoons.com/ultimatelive It's a great site, so be
sure to bookmark it.

November 20, 1999 - I decided to make one final update. This is really
Version 5.0 and I am calling the other one 4.9. I have added some more
reviews. There will be no more updates, this is the official Version 5.0.
I will still read and respond to e-mail though.

November 16, 1999 - All good things must come to an end. I have completed
this FAQ as much as I can. There is nothing more that you need to know
about it. I have taught you how to play a good game and now it must end.
This FAQ is completed. There will be no more updates anymore. If you
followed my updates you would have remembered that I said on October 18th
that when Version 5.0 came along I would quit on this FAQ. Well, actually
this should be only 4.9 but I decided to skip a 4.9 and make it 5.0. I will
still respond to e-mail I get about this FAQ but don't expect anymore
updates. It's been a great two months (almost two actually) working on this
FAQ. Now, I have other FAQs waiting to be worked on. Make sure you check
those out. Have a nice day.

November 13, 1999 - I bought NBA 2K yesterday and I have started a FAQ on it
so it should be done today or tomorrow. I won't be updating this as much
anymore because I have to finish my Toy Commander and NBA 2K FAQ. For this
update I have added another review. Also, I have changed the NFL 2K vs. NFL
Blitz 2000 to Grudge Matches and added one about Madden vs. NFL 2K. You
should read that. I have also added some more weird plays to the weird play
section. Also, I have added some more mail to the mailbag. Remember I said
that I was going to quit on my NFL Blitz 2000 FAQ? I decided not to so I am
still updating that. I hope you enjoy this update because it took a long
time to make.

November 12, 1999 - I decided to take a break from working on my Toy
Commander FAQ/Walkthrough so I added some new stuff to this one. I have
added some more Weird Plays. They are pretty weird so you should read them.
I have also made a new section called Worst Injuries. These are the worst
injuries that my friends or I have suffered. Also, if you have Toy
Commander you should go check out my Toy Commander FAQ/Walkthrough. It's a
great Walkthrough. Well, that's about it.

November 11, 1999 - Forget what I said yesterday. I decided to stop
updating my NFL Blitz 2000 FAQ and just update this and my Toy Commander
FAQ/Walkthrough. The Blitz 2000 FAQ was going to be like this, but the game
is just not indept enough. I have added another review by the guys over at
Cheat Code Central and a review by another person. Also, I have updated the
Weird Plays section with a bundle of new plays. Hope you enjoy this update.

November 10, 1999 - My Toy Commander FAQ/Walkthrough is now out and posted
on GameFAQs. Please check that out if you own that game. I have updated
the section called My Other FAQs/Walkthroughs. Also, I have made a new
section called Weird Plays. These are plays that happened when I was
playing that are unbelievable. You can send in your unbelievable plays to
me at debuting@aol.com. I probably won't be updating this FAQ that much
more because I have a lot of work to do with my NFL Blitz 2000 FAQ and my
Toy Commander FAQ/Walkthrough.

November 8, 1999 - It seems like I have updated this FAQ already today but I
really haven't. The last update was actually a day early. Today I have
added some more reviews that people have sent it. If you haven't bought
this game already then maybe you should read these new reviews and see what
people think about it. Also, I have fixed up the review section so it looks
nicer. Credits and Mailbag has also been updated. Look for an update
probably on Wednesday because I want to beat Toy Commander and make a
FAQ/Walkthrough on it.

November 8, 1999 - My NFL Blitz 2000 FAQ is completed and posted on
GameFAQs.com. Make sure you go check it out if you have NFL Blitz 2000. I
won't be updating this FAQ as much anymore because I am in the process of
making other FAQs. I have made a new section called My Other
FAQs/Walkthroughs. This is where I post my other FAQs and Walkthroughs that
I have made. I have also fixed up the controls section so it looks a lot
nicer. Also, I have fixed up the Mailbag section so it is much easier to
read. Hope you like this update and remember to read my NFL Blitz 2000 FAQ.

November 6, 1999 - Yesterday I purchased Toy Commander and I have been
playing it all day. You must buy that game it is so much fun. Today I have
added a Fan Review so you can read this person's review on NFL 2K. I also
updated the Credits section. This FAQ is almost done because I have covered
everything about the game. There is nothing more you need to know, but I
will still be making new sections and adding new stuff. Please e-mail me
any questions about this FAQ and go ahead and read the new reviews. Have a
great day and keep a look out for my NFL Blitz 2000 FAQ coming out soon. It
will be just as good as this one.

November 5, 1999 - Hasn't been long since I updated huh? Well I must get a
couple things done. First, I spell checked the FAQ. Now it is much better.
Also, I added a little more e-mail to the Mail Bag. This FAQ is still not
error free but at least the spelling is better. I am almost done with my
NFL Blitz 2000 FAQ so be sure to read that. On a side note, as you can see,
this is only Version 4.1. I will be updating by .1 now instead on by .5.
This will make the FAQ better because the numbers won't be as high. Also, I
made the spaces between the sections a bit bigger so now it may be a little
easier to get through this big FAQ. Finally, I have added a new section.
NFL 2K vs. NFL Blitz 2000. What game is better? What game is worth your
money? Check out that section for a great vs. match. Look for another
update pretty soon.

November 4, 1999 - It's been a while since I updated because I have been
very busy. I have been sick for a week and have had some homework to do.
At least Version 4.0 is pretty good. I have added some more mail to the
Mailbag. Also, I have added a new section called Irritating Things. I get
pissed off at the game sometimes for these things. If you have any
irritating things that isn't on the list please send them to me. I have
gotten NFL Blitz 2000 so I am going to make a FAQ on that game when I am
finished with this FAQ. It is getting pretty big and it's dying down. I am
not getting as much e-mail per day anymore on this FAQ. Let's hope this
changes though. Also, I have changed Personal Review to reviews. I am
posting reviews that fans have made on the game. I will post the review in
that section. Please send in your Reviews on the game. Well, that's about
it for Version 4.0, this is probably one of the biggest updates for this FAQ
so have fun checking out the new things. I hope to receive some more fan
mail.

October 24, 1999 - Welcome to Version 3.5. I can tell this FAQ is getting
more popular because I am recieving more e-mail everyday. I love reading
and answering e-mail so be sure to send some more in. Well for Version 3.5
I have added a section called Cheap Plays. These are plays I use when I'm
in trouble. Try them on your friends and see what happens. Also, I have
updated the Mailbag section. There is a lot more e-mail in that section.
Really good questions and answers. The Interactive section is coming around
but very slowly. Please participate in it. I hope you like the macro I
have made for the FAQ. Well, that's about now, my birthday has passed, so
now I have to look forward to Christmas.

October 20, 1999 - I have been bored for a while and decided to make my FAQ
better. My birthday is coming up on the 23rd so make sure you send me an
e-mail saying happy birthday. I will appreciate it. Hehe. I have added a
new section called Interactive. It is based on what the fans and readers of
this FAQ thanks. It's kind of like a poll but not quite. There are two
questions that you fill out and send back to me. Once I get some responses
I will post them on the FAQ. The first one is: What's Your Favorite Team On
NFL 2K? The other one is: What Do You Think Of This FAQ? Please go to the
Interactive Section to read the rules. Also, I have added a Defense
section. This is exclusively on how I play defense. It is a must for
people who have trouble protecting the long ball and stuff like that. Well,
I hope you like Version 3.0 of my FAQ, and make sure you check back to read
my new updates.

October 18, 1999 - I have mastered the running game on NFL2K. I have made
one section of how to run in NFL 2K. Check it out if you are having trouble
with running. Also, I have listed some more mail in the Mailbag. I have
fixed some other sections too. When we reach Version 5.0, then the FAQ will
stop and I will make a new FAQ on a new game. We are only on Version 2.5 so
look for some more updates before the final version of this FAQ is done.
Please send in some more e-mail, I love reading it and answering it.

October 7, 1999 - I know I promised I wouldn't update for a while but I got
bored. I have added all the teams and the ratings for each of them in my
opinion. Also, I have listed the Worse 5 Teams and added some more Mailbag
Questions and Answers. I have also added some other small things to this
FAQ. My Hydro Thunder FAQ will be out soon. I want to beat the game first
and I am kind of stuck at one level. We'll see what happens.

October 4, 1999 - I added a couple of new sections. Plus I fixed the layout
for the Controls so that it looks much better. There are a lot more codes
listed too. This will probably be the last update for 2 weeks because I am
making a FAQ on Hydro Thunder and Blue Stinger. Still send things in
please.

September 27, 1999 - Version 1.0 is here! Has over 10 sections filled with
information of how to be the best NFL2K player that you know of. Look for
another update coming up soon.

4. Game Modes
---------------------------------
NFL2K offers so many modes of play that you will never be bored. In this
section fo the FAQ I have listed the Game Modes and what they do.

Season - Play the official 1999/2000 season with any of the teams.

Practice - Practice catching the ball, running the ball, or kicking the
ball. Pick your plays and make sure you remember them for real games.

Tourney - Play a tournament with 4, 8, or 16 teams.

Playoffs - Play just the playoffs in the post season.

Fantasy - All players will be placed in Free Agent Mode. Pick your teams
and have a tournament.

Create a Player - Create your own player.

Create a Team - Create your own team.

---------------------------------
5. Codes
---------------------------------
All of these codes were taken off GameSages.com and IGN.com. If you have
any other codes for NFL2K please e-mail me them.

Extra Attribute Points
In the attribute setting in create-a-player if you move the numbers all the
way to 0 and back to the top you will get 1 extra point. Do this for all of
them and you'll end up getting about 10-11 extra points.

How to call time out in vs. mode
To call time out in versus mode for players 2,3, or 4 you must use the
analog stick to choose the timeout option on the pause menu, not the
directional pad. Use the A button as usual to select the option. Once this
is done, the directional pad can be used for the rest of the game.

Sack the QB Everytime
Having trouble sacking the quarterback? Just go under penalties and turn the
offsides and neutral zone off. With this done you can sack the quarterback
or easily block punts or field goals. Try this code while playing a friend
and see how long until he realizes you're cheating

Turbo Mode
Start a game as usual. Once in the game, press START. Go to the CODES
option, then go to ENTER CHEAT. Type in TURBO and then
press the X button. If done correctly, a screen will appear that says turbo
mode has been activated. Exit out of the CODES and go to OPTIONS, and then
GAME OPTIONS. Then all you have to do is switch GAME SPEED from NORMAL to
TURBO. Now the game will move extremely fast.

Unlock SegaSports Team
Type: SUPERSTARS in the CODES section

Different Game Font
Type: SCRAWL in the CODES section

Squeeky Voice
Type: SQUEEKY in the CODES section

Fat Players
Type: LARD in the CODES section

Personal Review:
---------------------------------
What can I say? NFL2K is my favorite game of all time. If I would rate
this game on a scale of 1-10 it would be a 11. The first time I played
NFL2K it seemed kind of confusing. There were so many different plays and
modes that I got scared of what to do. When I played the first game, I put
it on rookie and kicked ass. Now I play on All-Pro and it's really hard.
This has to be the best AL I have ever seen in a football game. Last night
I was so caught in the game I played a whole season in one night. The
graphics on this game are so smooth and nice that when I walk in and see my
brother playing it I think he's watching a real football game. The sound
has to be the best. There are 3 commentators that sound so different. The
weather in the game looks so real. You can make it foggy, raining, snowy,
hot, or really cold. The create a player mode is so cool. I made a
Quearterback that was 7 feet. It was so cool. The replay value in this
game is the best. I bought the game on 9/9/99 and I still play it atleast
one time a day. It's better than the 3 other games I won for Dreamcast. If
you haven't bought this game yet I suggest you do. Even if you aren't a
football fan you will still have a lot of fun playing this game.

dkulas@hotmail.com Review:
---------------------------------
Graphics: 10: These are the best graphics I ever saw in a football game. The
players looked so real, especially after the camera angles they show after
each play. This is the closest to the real thing ever. I love the player
animations as well, it has all the real-life animations like wrap-around
tackles, plus all the monster hits from the Blitz series animated in a
real-life way, unlike the totally fantasized way they're animated in Blitz.
Sound: 10: Another great part of the game, I love the commentary from these
guys, even though they're not hired gun professional NFL commentators, they
sound a lot better than the real thing. All the gameplay sound effects sound
good as well, even the PA announcer sounds like the real thing!

Gameplay: 8: The gameplay is absolutely great, it only gets an 8 because of
a couple of glitches, which I'll cover later on in the review. The play
selection screen is great, but if you're in mulit-player mode your opponent
always knows what play you're gonna pick, but if you have a VMU, you can
pick your plays off the VMU so your opponent won't have a clue what you're
gonna pick at all, the downside of calling it on the VMU though is that it
doesn't display the play formations on screen, so I always use onscreen play
calling in single player mode. There are many modes of play like Season,
playoffs, quickstart, exhibition, an innovative tutorial mode that gives you
tips after every play, plus theres all the customizing stuff like user
records, trades, stats, and creating players and teams. No onto the
important glitches: in a multiplayer mode players 2, 3, and 4 can not call
timeouts or make substitutions. Also the game screws up on User Records if
you have two or more user profiles. There are also some of other minor
glitches, but these are the main 2 that screw up the game, of course if you
don't use user records because you don't have a VMU, and if you have no
friends or little brothers/sisters you won't mind about the not calling
timeouts or subs either. Another thing is that the game takes up 191 out of
200 of the VMU's blocks of memory. That's a lotta space. But these are the
only downsides to the game. It's a real fun game to play.

Replay Value: 9: Up to 4 players, stats 'o' plenty. Creating players and
teams, customizable trades and user records, plus lots more.

Overall: 10: A great game all-together if you ignore the glitches. The
glitches will more than likely be fixed in next year's game, plus I'm
looking forward to next years game to having an online multiplayer mode.

Snatch1414@aol.com Review
---------------------------------
After playing NFL2K extensively since launch I can confirm that sports nuts
praying for the return of Sega Sports definitely got their wish. If there
was any doubt that Visual Concepts couldn't handle the load EA politely
declined, that doubt was cleanly wiped away by the dead-on animation and
realism NFL2K brings to the table.
Let me kick this review into gear by saying that the graphics and especially
the animation during play are the most realistic and accurate ever seen in a
sports game. Wide receivers stumble to keep their balance after a tough
grab, offensive lineman get pancake blocked, hard-nosed running backs drag
tacklers, etc. etc. etc. and in the end you have a graphical masterpiece
that you won't be ashamed to confuse for a Sunday afternoon gridiron battle
on a major cable network.
As far as options and modes of play there is plenty to please any pigskin
fanatic including your standard-issue season play, and additionally a
fantasy draft, a complete practice mode and the most detailed
create-a-player feature yet. Although there are tons of options you usually
can only save one season per VMU. Period. Not one regular season AND one
fantasy, that's a no no. This is unfortunate since the game takes up almost
all of one VMU as far as memory goes.
Now let's break down the gameplay itself. The play-calling is the most
innovative yet in a football game, with an overlay of your chosen play
covering the actual field so you can see exactly where your go-to-guy is
going to cut for that 30-yard dart you plan to throw. The play on the field
is the most realistic yet; to a point. The players themselves look and move
very realistically, but how they perform on the field is another story.
After a long session familiarizing yourself with NFL2K you will find that a
pass-heavy offense is the only way to go, since the running game is next to
impossible on the higher difficulties. Even the passing game itself is a tad
suspect: balls float unusually high and slow in the air and timing routes
are next to impossible to connect on.
All in all, when you play NFL2K you will be amazed by the graphics and
animation, and you'll be very pleased with the game's options and how it
plays even if the play-calling tilts a little toward the passing plays. You
get the most realistic football game on the market which also plays well and
has plenty of options and modes for you to tinker with.

Gameplay: 93%-The best playing football game to date with innovative and
easy play-calling.
Sound: 90%-Great on-the-field sound effects and solid commentary, albeit a
tad repetitive.
Graphics: 95%-Most realistic of any sports game out there, with animation
that will boggle your mind.
Fun Factor: 85%-Amazing fun if you're a sports fan, but purists may not like
the pass-heavy gameplay. Good with friends also.
Replay Value: 85%-Tons of modes will keep you busy not to mention the
fantasic create-a-player and create-a-team features.

Overall: 93% (not an average)

NFL 2k is obviously a sports game. Not any sports game though. When I
first played this game, I thought it was going to be another shallow
football game with good graphics. NFL 2k is a GREAT football game with
GREAT graphics. I have seen this game make people follow the light that is
Dreamcast.

GAMEPLAY:

NFL 2k's gameplay is as good as its graphics. With the most realism I have
ever seen in a game this game easily surpasses Madden 2000 or QB Club, by
mean of looks and playability. I mean wow just looking at this game is fun
enough but playing it is mind boggling. Another great addition is the
option to make it a Blitz type arcade football game. By going into options,
you could turn off all penalties and then play it just like blitz only
better everything. It has many modes but the main mode of play is Season
play. You pick your team(s) and then play out through the season trying to
get into playoffs then eventually into the superbowl. This game is licensed
with the NFL it self so the stadiums look like the real thing and the teams
are well known. It has a few cheats also.

GRAPHICS:

Whoaaaaaaaaaaaa. Just look at this game! Is this game real live tv??? No
do not adjust your eyes, this is a video game but is really close to being
the real thing. No wait….its better than the real thing. Just one word to
describe this game' graphics amazing. Other football games can really learn
from this game's engine.

Gameplay: 99%
Graphics: 100%
Fun Factor: 98%
Replay Value: 100%
Music( Commentary): 99%
Overall(not an average): 100%

"Its gut check time: Will you crush your NFL 2K opponents or be their
tackling dummy?"
NFL 2K would have to be the best football game I have ever played. You got
some of the best graphics with some amazing detail from players stances,
body size, all 31 stadiums modeled in true 3d, full weather effects, and
there own speacil touchdown dances. I just love it when you score with Jamal
Anderson and he does the ole' Dirty Bird.

The annoucers really help out the game play but after a while it gets kinda
old because you hear the same thing, but you can always turn them off.
Turning them off is easy too because of the user friendly options which you
can also change during game play. So if you put it on hard think you where
good and started getting your butt whipped then you could just change it
back to easy during the game so you wont have to restart.

NFL 2K has alot of diffrent types of game play options. You can play a
exhibition, season, practice, fanasty with a 4 team, 8 team, 16 team, and
full NFL draft option. ect. You got VMU play calling so no one will know
what play you pick. Stat tracking, player trading, team playbooks, play
editor and much more.

There is one downside to all this, yes everything cant be perfect :[. It
takes 191 blocks of VMU space! Which sucks but everything else makes up for
it.

All and all this is a very fun and exciting game to play I suggest you buy
this game if you like sports games or even if you dont this could change
your mind.

When thinking of the top Dreamcast games, NFL 2K will probably show up on
the list. While there are other more highlt rated games (Soul Calibur), but
NFL 2K is one of the best Dreamcast launch games out there. While not as fun
as Blitz 2000, sim fans will dig this game because of all the reality of
football, including lots of plays to choose from and realistic gameplay.
GRAPHICS (10/10): The best graphics ever in a football game, bar none, which
is to be expected, considering the power of the DReamcast. The stadiums are
realistically designed, as are the players. THe detail in the realistic
player models is outstanding. THe football even looks great, although it
does travel too slowly while being thrown in the air. OVerall beautiful
graphics and a good indicator of how great the DReamCast's graphical
cabalities really are.

CONTROL (10/10): It is very easy to go through the different menus, and this
is one of the few Dreamcast games that the controller works well for, unlike
the sorry control in Soul Calibur, which in that game the regular control
pad is impossile to use. GREAT control.

GAMEPLAY (10/10): There are lots of plays to choose from (far more than
Blitz 2000), and the VMU is a great addition (you can use it to hide your
play selection, otherwise a diagram of the play will show up on the screen).
The gameplay is not as fun and more realistic than the gameplay in Blitz
2000 (where in that game fdeatured late hits and rampant "penalties"). In
this game, there are the NFL teams to choose from, including the best team
in the league, Tampa Bay (okay, maybe I am a little biased :) Overall, great
and fun gameplay, although non-hardcore fans will be better off trying Blitz
2000 instead.

FUN FACTOR (10/10): This game is fun for hardcore football fans, although
non fans of football will find the gameplay in Blitz 2000 more fun and
overall rewarding. Regardelss, both games are outstanding. If you are a true
football fan, you'll want to get both (like I did!)

With over two years in development and a game engine created from scratch,
it is no wonder that Sega's NFL 2K is making people say, "EA who?" This game
is without a doubt the best football game on the planet. Everything about
this game oozes perfection. If you consider yourself a football fan (or even
if you don't) once you see this game in action it will be all that you think
about until you are playing it in your living room. No kidding.

Highs:
Everything
Lows:
Nothing

---------------------------------
When I sat down to review NFK 2K I knew that I shouldn't have this
experience alone. I knew my wife wouldn't care to see it, so I phoned the
only person I knew that would probably be interested in seeing this
masterpiece in action. Enter Nip. Nip bought a Sega Genesis back in the
early 90's to play Madden Football and NHL Hockey; and that's it. Over the
years he tired of the football games but continued to enjoy the hockey
games. His wife even purchased him a PlayStation, which he promptly
returned, stating that he couldn't justify the purchase. I know, weird huh?
But I needed a player 2 and if anyone knew football out of my circle of
friends, it was Nip.

After he arrived and quit mooching apple crisp and coke, we got down to
business. Even though I had seen NFL 2K in action already, I was anxiously
awaiting his reaction. Remember, the last football he played was on the
Genesis. Once the game was underway his words were, "This looks like a real
game." He didn't mean video game, he meant televised football game.
Everything from the camera angles to the different sizes of players to the
blurred side lines to the visible breath in cold weather to the motion
captured movements is 100% amazing.

So we have established that the game looks great, but how does it play?
Incredible. For once your cpu-controlled opponents are real crafty. You'll
start on the Rookie level, which is highly recommended. This brings up
windows that will give you brief tutorials on all of the key aspects of the
game. Even seasoned Madden and GameDay fans will have to spend a few games
learning the ropes because the cpu AI on the harder difficulties play the
game like the real teams would. This translates into the competition having
a real coach and your team having you. Who do you think is going to call the
right plays or defensive measures? You can also expect your video game team
to have the strengths and weaknesses of their real-life counterparts.

Controlling the players is intuitive once you learn the intricacies of doing
so. NFL 2K introduces Maximum Passing. This enables you to have much more
control over where your QB is sending the ball. Passing the ball is based on
Icon Passing, which is the system where each receiver corresponds to either
the A, B, X, Y or L button on the controller. By first pressing the desired
direction on the analog control and then pressing the button to your
available receiver, Maximum Passing allows you to put the ball in 4
directions around your receiver. You can throw short, long or to the right
or left which means he'll have to run for it, but it just might get the ball
away from his cover-man. The analog control to move your player is a dream.
You can move in slight increments at the line of scrimmage being careful not
to cross it and receive a penalty or bust out full speed at the snap.

The commentary is definitely next generation. It seems to have received the
same attention as the gameplay. You'll hear everything from play by plays of
what's actually happening on the field, to color commentary between plays to
weather forecast updates and news on injured players. How could you ask for
more than that. It is the most realistic commentary I've ever heard in a
game.

Along with everything this package throws at you, there are even a ton of
ways to customize the game to your liking. You can create players (even
altering their size), customize playbooks, use another team's playbooks if
you like or create your own defensive and offensive plays. Even the weather
is fun to create, because you don't just turn on rain or snow; you alter the
temperature and precipitation. One of the best features is the VMU play
picking system which is mandatory for multi-player games. This feature
allows you to choose your plays using the VMU in the controller rather than
select it on-screen for all eyes to see. If you insist on using it in 1
player games though, might I suggest that you are really paranoid...

Seeing screenshots of this game (although beautiful) really give you no
indication of the fluidity of this whole game. It has to be seen to be
believed. If you are a casual football gamer who cares little for the rules
of the game then I'd suggest trying out NFL Blitz 2000 which because of it's
arcade roots is a much easier game to get into. Armchair quarterbacks
looking for the most realistic and well-balanced gridiron game, look no
further. Your prayers have been answered.

BRLWEBPAGE@aol.com Review
---------------------------------
NFL2K. Yes, this is a groundbreaking title. The graphics are fantastic,
although the players are crisp and don't appear to have any sort of light
sourcing to deal with shadows on the player's uniform. And, is it just me
or is every player's head/helmet to small? I know, these are nit picky, but
when setting a high standard as SEGA has just done, it makes you look for
the little things. The weather is nice, it is based on a combination of
temperature, precipitation, and fog, instead of the typical,
rain/wind/snow/clear options.

Gameplay is pretty good, though not great. The running game is pretty poor,
(as has become expected in many "first year versions" of football games).
The passing game is pretty easy, but its a pain to have to hit the trigger
button in order to scramble the QB. And with so many beautiful animations,
how come the quarterback throwing animation looks so weird, like the QB
doesn't have a full arm follow-through motion? (It wouldn't be so bad,
except it is an animation seen frequently throughout the game). Defense
seems to be fairly easy to play, and the DB's have more pass knockdowns than
should be expected. It sure would have been nice to include some adjustable
AI, rather than just the typical rookie, pro, all-pro.

Don't get me wrong, this game is fun and awe-inspiring to look at. I found
myself letting the computer control both teams, and was drawn in by the
"TV-style" camera work, coupled with the constant narration and "sideline
reports" I'd swear I was watching a real game on TV.

I miss a dynasty mode, and after a couple of hours play against my buddy, we
found ourselves going back to Madden 2000, simply for the better gameplay.

Get this game, it has some gameplay flaws, but it is still fantastic. I
can't wait for next year. P.S. Is it just me, or does anybody else find
the Dreamcast's 12X CD ROM awfully noisy?

---------------------------------
My Other Review
---------------------------------
When I bought Dreamcast on 9/9/99 I bought three games. NFL 2K, Sonic
Adventure, and Ready 2 Rumble Boxing. The first game I played when I got
home was NFL 2K. I was amazed. This game had great graphics, fun gameplay,
and great sound. I couldn't believe it. It is now 11/12/99, over two months
later, and I still play it everyday. Now I just have to get $50.00 to buy
NBA 2K.

Gameplay: 10/10 - The gameplay is great. It has a great season mode that
keeps in depth statistics. The game is just like playing in a real football
game. The rushers don't rush for 10 yards a carry. Usually you'll be lucky
if you get five. The quarterback can't throw a touchdown everytime. It's a
great game.

Graphics - 10/10 - This game looks so real it looks like you are watching a
real game on tv. The players look great. The uniforms look great (they even
have wholes in them). The fields look great. Everything looks great in this
game.

Sound - 10/10 - The announcers are funny and always know what is going on in
the game. They announce pefectly and there are two people who talk. Also,
midway into the game there is an on the field report. It's great to listen
to.

Replay Value - 10/10 - The season mode is great because the AI is very good.
Two player mode will never get boring at all. You will play this game until
NFL 2001 comes out for sure. What a great game.

Overall - 10/10 - This is the best football game. There is nothing that even
comes close. If you are thinking of buying a Dreamcast, make sure you get
this game with it. I don't know anyone who has a Dreamcast and not NFL 2K.

NFL 2K has great graphics and sound but its like any other football game you
pass the ball touch thats it thats why I didnt give it a real good score.
Graphics 10/10
This is the great part of the game the graphics. They are amazing there is no
slow down what so ever. There is no choppy animation and the characters dont
look stupid looking either. And the way way it shows some guy tacklen someone
else is superb.

Gameplay 7/10
The gameplay is good. This game packs in plenty of options (and I mean
plenty)and theres so much to do.And how the VMU is the playbook in the is
one of the greatest ideas ever for a game. But when you put that all aside
its still just a plain old football game.I dont really see anything new its
just like playing Madden with way better graphics. You can even put stuff
like the precipition and stuff.

Sound 8/10
This game packs in some great sound from the the commetery and the
players.Theres even a some injury news reporter in the game. But this game
has some really crappy music.

Overall 8/10
The first thing that you will noticed about the game are the graphics and
youll think that they look perfect and youll buy it on the spot. This game is
good but not as good as the on going Madden series ALL HAIL MADDEN!!!!Buy or
Rent:Buy but you waste almost all of your VMU space since it takes up nearly
up the whole thing.

When I first read in EGM that Steven Speilberg was stunned after seeing NFL
2K in action at E3, I was impressed. I mean, this guy deals with
state-of-the-art special effects daily in his film making, and he was
STUNNED by a video game? Oh yeah, that's common. But this game wasn't just
any game, mind you. It was a Dreamcast title. And it was only a first
generation game. This game is the pinnicle of sports games, not just
football (that is, until NBA 2K is released...)It is probably the best
looking Dreamcast launch title, other than maybe Soul Calibur. Its also one
of the best playing ones as well. I would rank the sheer gameplay alone
right up there with the Madden series. Its that good. Some may not agree
with me, but believe me: you have to play it to appreciate it.

Graphics:(10/10)- One of the best looking games EVER, if not the best
looking. You'll be hard pressed to find another sports game that moves as
smoothly, and as detailed as NFL 2K. You can even see the tiny mesh holes in
the player's jerseys. Simply amazing. I can't wait to see next year's
edition.

Sound: (9.5/10)- The sound of this game is outstanding. All of the grunts
are realistic, and the PA announcer adds a nice touch. Even the announcers
are right on target with every play, and they are often pretty funny as
well. If only the announcers wouldn't repeat some things so often. Oh well,
I guess I'm just being picky.

Gameplay: (10/10)- NFL 2K's gameplay is probably its best feature. It's up
to par with the Madden series, and with good reason. The running game is
realistic, so you won't be runng for 25 yards on every play, and the passing
game is spectacular. Even the AI is super-realistic. It will adapt to your
style of offense after a few downs or so, so that you can't use the same
play two or three times in a row with sucess. Like the ads say, "It's
thinking." The game is amazingly deep too. You can play a season, trade
players to any team, and even create players and teams. NFL 2K is so
customizable, that anyone can play it and adjust it to their needs. You can
even choose plays secretly if you own a VMU.

Replay:(8/10)- The game's fun and all, but don't expect NFL Blitz-type of
replayability. It's a great multiplayer game, but not as wild as Blitz. You
can still play with up to four players, but since it's a simulation, its not
as fast paced as Blitz. It's still plenty fun with friends, and the scores
are usually close. For added replayablity, when you play a friend, or
friends, turn off pass interference. It'll make it a lot more interesting. I
do this all the time with my friend,(cough-Andy Johnson-cough), and we
usually play for it quite a while on Saturday nights. Jolly good fun.

Buy/Rent- You can't rent it anyways, so just buy it. You won't be
disapointed.

Graphics-10
One word, AWESOME!!!. NFL 2K has the some of the best graphics of any game
on any system! The players look so clean and tight that it looks as if you
were watching a game on FOX. NFL 2K is a prime example on what the Dreamcast
is cable of producing, that is high quality, lifelike graphics. I was simply
amazed at the beginning of a game when the camera zoomed into the stadium
and showed it just like the stadium's life like form. As I played with Tampa
Bay, i noticed the ship at one of the endzones in Raymond James stadium, I
think that was too tight.

Sound-9

The sound on NFL2K is really a big plus. The commentary is outstanding with
accurate, detailed comments. With the graphics being outstanding and the
commentray this game is even more lifelike! Another thing about the sound I
liked is the crowd, as you are on defense you can signal the crowd for
louder noise or on offense, you can signal to the crowd to quiet down. The
only thing that is missing with the sound is that I think that there should
be more crowd chants. Other than that the sound rocks!

Control-10

2K handles extremly nice! It will take a few minutes to get accustomed to
the controls. The controls are fluid, but its not too hard to master them.
For a football game it is perfect! 2K is playable with both analog stick and
diagonal pad, but i perfer to use the diagonal because it seems eaiser to
control.

Funfactor-10

This game is freaking tight!!! If you own a Dreamcst, dont be stupid and
pass up NFL 2K. This is a must buy!! Worth every penny! You and three other
friends can grid it out with the four player action! As of right now this
game is probably the most enjoyable on the Dreamcast so make the purchase!

TheRundown

NFL 2K is every sports fan dream! Hardcore football action that cant be
beat!

* 2K has all 31 stadiums, modeled in true 3D. Just like the real stadium or
dome.

* All 31 teams including Cleveland Browns. Each team has thier real home and
away jerseys. Includes little details like the viking head on Minnesota's
jersey.

* Full NFLPL- has every athlete on the roster. Wanna see Terrell Davis win
the superbowl with the Jaguars or Dolphins? Go right ahead and tradem!

* Inclues pratice, season, fantasy, quickstart modes.

* Create you own offensive or defensive plays and run them on you opponents.

* 2K works great with the VMU, your human opponent cant see the play you are
picking.

7. Top 5 Teams
---------------------------------
These are the best 5 teams in my opinion. If you disagree I strongly
suggest you play with these teams.

5. Dallas Cowboys
This is a great team for defense. For two reasons. It has Deion Sanders as
Cornerback and as punt returner. Him alone can win the game for you.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Trent Dilfer is a great Quarterback in this game. The running and passing
game is so well you won't even need a good defense to win the game.

3. Green Bay Packers
Bret Favre, Levens, Freeman, etc. This has to be one of the best throwing
teams in the league. Not to mention, the defense is great also.

2. Atlanta Falcons
Two Words. Jamal Anderson. You can not tackle this guy one on one. If he
has a hole to run through then he has atleast a 15 yard gain. Chris
Chandler isn't bad either

1. Minnesota Vikings
This team is the best in the game. You can not stop Randy Moss. Throw it
up to him on man on man coverage and its a touchdown 99% of the time. He
can also catch it triple covered!

---------------------------------
8. Worst 5 Teams
---------------------------------
These are the worse 5 teams in my opinion. If you disagree you should play
with these teams and get your ass kicked badly.

5. Pittsburgh Steelers
Why the Steelers? Well, if Kordell Stewart could throw in this game then
they would be great. The bad part is the only thing he can do is run. With
his throwing you have to be very good at rushing to win.

4. SF 49ers
Damn, this team is suppose to be good. Maybe it's just me but I have never
won a game with them.

3. Chicago Bears
Damn this team sucks. Never play with this team.

2. Cleveland Browns
What did you think? This team would actually be good? Look at their
overall performance in the game. They suck big time. Never be this team.

1. Cincinnati Bengals
The worse team in this game. I love Jeff Blake but damn he sucks.

10. Personal Strategy
---------------------------------
If you ever played me in NFL2K you would know that I am the best person at
the game. I always win. The only person close to me is my older brother
and he still gets his ass kicked. I have given you the stragety I use when
I play. It kicks ass and you will win for sure if you use it. On first
down go to Trips and press the center play. I kind of forgot what its
called but its the 2nd passing play listed. This play is so cool. It
lines three wide recievers on the right side and your running back on the
left. The running back runs a little pattern and if you throw it to him
there will be one or no one covering him. This
means you get atleast 10 yards per play until the person starts figuring out
what you are doing. So you can't be cheap and use it each play. On second
down you should mix it up with a run. A pitch left is good or a middle
delay. You will probably get 5 yards if you juke and use turbo. This means
you will have a first down always probably. If it ever went to third down
you use All Streak. Five recievers go out and usually the tight end or B
reciever are best to throw to. It's usually man on man coverage so theres
an easy score. And if forth down ever came, go for the first play I listed.
Never Punt. Also, when you are going deep hold the right button on the
back of the controller and it will let the QB run. This means you can press
turbo and it won't be a pass. For field goals never kick anything over 60
yards. Trust me, it's very hard to do. My longest was a sad 57 yarder
which could have probably went 62 because the wind was blowing my direction.
But never go over 60 yards for a field goal. For defense you always
blitz. Never stay back in the backfield. I suggest you use base or base2
for each play. It will rarely be man on man that way so they will never get
long runs. If you follow this you are surely to win each time.

11. Frequently Asked Questions
---------------------------------
Question: Should I buy NFL2K or NFL Blitz?
Answer : Dude are you gay? NFL2K is surely the better game. You can play
one minute quarters and the game will be just as short as Blitz almost.

Question: Is NFL2K better than QB Club?
Answer : Yes. It has better AL, better graphics, and is much faster. Your
QB can not run 400 yards per game either.

Question: What is the best team to use?
Answer : Well if you were smart you should have read my Top 5 Teams section
but I'll tell you anyways. Minnesota Vikings.

Question: How old are you?
Answer : Probably the same age as you.

Question: Is there anything wrong with this game?
Answer : Pretty much no. Sometimes the announcers voices will get loud and
the fumble recoveries don't look like they are picking up the ball but
everything else is great.

Question: How much is this game?
Answer : Around $50.00.

Question: Do you own NFL2K?
Answer : Yes, I bought it on 9/9/99 with my system and two other games.

That should answer all of your questions. If you have anymore questions
feel free to contact me.

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
Hey, just wanted to tell ya something. You keep saying AL, but it's AI. It
stands for Artificial Intelligence. That's it. Nice FAQ. Oh yeah, also I
know a play that you'll almost always catch the ball. I don't know which
teams have it, but I know the Miami Dolphins do since they're my team. It's
Shotgun>Comeback, then pass to X once he starts running straight. I have not
missed this pass yet and you can get a touchdown easily a lot with it.

---------------------------------
Response
---------------------------------
Yeah i Know its Al. I did a spell check but I guess it didn't pick that up.
Thanks for the comments. I use Comeback sometimes but it never works for
me. I found another good pass that you might like. It under shotgun. You
press like Z to go to three plays and the middle one is really good. I
forgot what the name of it is but the x reciever makes a nice 90 degree
angle and he's usually wide open. Look for my faq to be updated pretty soon

Question
---------------------------------
Hey I read your FAQ on gamefaqs.com and noticed your the BEST player
there is so maybe you can help me out....I've posted problems with
defending the long ball on BlastCity
www.segadojo.com/links/blastcity.htm and UGO Forum...Its the one that
says NFL2K Deep Pass...NOW THIS GAME SUCKS.....(I really don't think the
game sucks, just wanted to get people's attention)...You should read my
post to get an idea of my problems...Here's the UGO link....
http://forums.ugo.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/006897.html ...Heres the
BlastCity link... http://nurb.com/blast/Forum1/HTML/007480.html ....All
the problems occur in 2Player mode ONLY so don't give me advice for
playing the CPU...I can kick the CPU's ass....I just can't defend the
deep ball in 2Player mode...So ANY advice you can give me would be very
helpful....And what team do you play as and what team does your opponent
play as???

---------------------------------
Response
---------------------------------
This was a problem for me before I found out what defensive plays to use.
You should never line up in man on man coverage because the long ball will
work almost everytime. When you see your friend is going to pass make sure
you controll the guy who is guarding the reciever. Keep on tapping the
turbo button so you can stay with the reciever. Then make sure you jump
before he does. If you do this it will be an incomplete pass. Here is what
I do if my cornerback is beat. I have him try to get as close as the
reciever and then hit him so its a penalty. It's better than a touchdown.
I usually don't let my friends or whoever stay that long in the pocket
either. Use base or base2 so there are 2 free safetys and have one of them
blitz. Control the free safety until the ball is thrown. Try this and you
will stop the long ball.

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
Hey, your FAQ was really good and helpful! I only have two questions. In
your FAQ you said you won your three games, what did you do to win them?
Last I'm still having trouble running the ball on pro. Rookie is way to
easy...I get almost 400 or 500 yards a game on rookie but on pro I get like
30. Thanks!

---------------------------------
Response
---------------------------------
I use my personal stragety which is listed on the FAQ. Why are you playing
on pro? Play on All-Pro. If you want to run good throw behind you like a
passing play and then juke the guys out. It's not that hard.

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
Hey bro, you sounded like you know your stuff about the game. I just made a
DB that I thought was awsome. 99 speed 100 coverage etc (nothing really
lacking on stats) but his rating was 57 or something. Does his size an
arm/leg scale, weight etc have anthing to do with it? Do you think he will
still be good really even though his overall rating sucks? Ok thx, plz
respond. Jared.

---------------------------------
Response

he's really good still. Sometimes on NFL2k the ratings get messed up. Keep
on playing with him and his rating will go up. This happened with my QB I
made

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
Hey man,
i read your FAQ on gamewinners.com and i thought it ruled.
2 questions though, I made a cornerback and his rating is 66.
You told some other fuy to build him up, how do you do that?
and also, when my friend passes i can be set up perfectly for the
interception, but my CB just knocks it to the ground.
Thanx alot.......LIONS RULE!!!.......Bring
                                     Back
                                     Barry
                                     !!!!!

---------------------------------
Response
---------------------------------
For your cornerback all you have to do is play some games with him and I'm
pretty sure his rating will go up.

For the interceptions, I have no clue why that happens. That happens to me
too. I think the best way to intercept a ball is to run at it and catch it.
I'll get back to you if i find anything.

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
Hi there-
I just read your FAQ off of GameFaqs, and I have a couple of
comments. First off, props for a well written FAQ. But anyways, I have
to disagree with you on the abilities of throwing the long ball. I can
stop it just about everytime, Randy Moss or whoever. As soon as the pass
is heading deep, press B to switch to the man covering the receiver.
Then, holding the analog stick in the direction your receiver is running,
hammer on A to get very close to the receiver, almost running him over.
Then hit Y to jump just beffore the ball gets there, and your player will
jump, turn around, and knock the ball away. If you're lucky he'll deflect
it to a teammate for a pick. Going deep is definitely effective against
the computer, but not against another human if you do what I just said.
Also, I always pick the defense 4-3 Middle Press Stunt (? it's the very
first 4-3 play on the left side). One linebacker will blitz up the
middle, so choose the other one, then blitz along side the other blitzer
up the middle. One of you will get through. I consistently shut out the
CPU on All-Pro with this.
On another note, I've noticed an interesting pattern playing the CPU-
against different defenses, if a play works once, it will
(just-about)always work. And vice-versa. A good example is the 90 degree
crossing pattern play you mentioned from Shotgun. Either the computer
will cover it always, or you can march up and down the field with it.
Another play I found with this property (probably works against 40% of
defenses or so) is Pro Slot- Inside Zone. Is the very first play under
Pro Slot. You can often run between the RG and RT for 5-8 yards without
getting touched yet. Great running play.
Hope this helped,
Ian

---------------------------------
Response
---------------------------------
Ian-
I know how you play defense because I do that too. The only thing is
sometimes the cornerback will be far away from the reciever and he can't
catch up even with turbo. I will try out the plays you told me of and see
how they work for me. I use base because it has two safetys so it protects
the long ball. Thanks for the e-mail!

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
Hello, I am contacting you in regards for some advise about this game.
Your strategy seems to do good against another human player, but against the
CPU on all-pro, they cover the HB screen left play every time. The only
consistant offensive play I have found to work is the HB option which
ensures a 1-man covered guy no matter what. When you say that your defense
is base or base2, which formation is that in? I have noticed that goalline
defense stops the CPU almost every time so I am not sure what defense is the
best to run. I also played against a buddy and he ran goalline defense, and
mostly running offense which was dominating me for the first half. I came
back and won by 2 touchdowns, but he still dominated the game. I don't just
want to win him, I want to dominate his ass right from the kickoff and have
that game won. Which offense do you think is the best to run against the
goalline/Base defense? If you could give me a few tips and tricks, I sure
would appreciate it.

P.S. I bought this game because Gameday plain out sucks, and EA won't get
off their lazy asses to make a Madden game different from the year before
(It also is weak as hell)! As far as football gaming goes, there is NOTHING
that can even come close to NFL 2K despite what all those people said on
that chat board.

thanks,

Ice.

Response
---------------------------------
First off, I am sorry that the response took so long. Next time, I will
respond in less than a day. Well, now I don't throw that much anymore. I
am really good at running now. It took a lot of practice but now I can run
a good 5 yards per play on All Pro. Pretty good eh? Well, don't worry if
theres one guy covering you. Get in front of the cornerback with the
reciever to catch the ball. The Base coverage is an audible when you are on
the field. I also think its listed in 3-4 or 4-3. The play that I use in
Trips usually only works in the beginning of the game. The Al reads it
later on. Try to use Shotgun, then press L, and use the first play. Throw
it to the X reciever and you usually get a good 5 yard pass. Hope this
helps.

Question

7. Top 5 Teams

These are the best 5 teams in my opinion. If you disagree I strongly
suggest
you play with these teams.

5. Dallas Cowboys
This is a great team for defense. For two reasons. It has Deion Sanders as
Cornerback and as punt returner. Him alone can win the game for you.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Trent Dilfer is a great Quarterback in this game. The running and passing
game
is so well you won't even need a good defense to win the game.

3. Green Bay Packers
Bret Favre, Levens, Freeman, etc. This has to be one of the best throwing
teams
in the league. Not to mention, the defense is great also.

2. Atlanta Falcons
Two Words. Jamal Anderson. You can not tackle this guy one on one. If he
has
a hole to run through then he has atleast a 15 yard gain. Chris Chandler
isn't
bad either

1. Minnesota Vikings
This team is the best in the game. You can not stop Randy Moss. Throw it
up to
him on man on man coverage and its a touchdown 99% of the time. He can also
catch it triple covered!

8. Worse 5 Teams
These are the worse 5 teams in my opinion. If you disagree you should play
with
these teams and get your ass kicked badly.

5. Pittsburgh Steelers
Why the Steelers? Well, if Kordell Stewart could throw in this game then
they
would be great. The bad part is the only thing he can do is run. With his
throwing you have to be very good at rushing to win.

4. SF 49ers
Damn, this team is suppose to be good. Maybe it's just me but I have never
won
a game with them.

3. Chicago Bears
Damn this team sucks. Never play with this team.

2. Cleveland Browns
What did you think? This team would actually be good? Look at their
overall
performance in the game. They suck big time. Never be this team.

1. Cincinnati Bengals
The worse team in this game. I love Jeff Blake but damn he sucks.

9. Team Rankings

Just looked over your ratings for the teams.
I hate to say it but the Dolphins are the best team in the Game. they are
Greg Thomas's favorite team.

As for the 9ers, there o-line and Db's are over rated, if your not winning
with them something is wring with you. Learn how to throw the slant. Against
true Pros you will never ge the Deep Ball off. There is a way to get a Pick
with a Star DB (Sander, Woodson, Law etc) 75% of the time.

The Vikings have 2 weak corners and you can expose them everyime.

Jacksonville Jaguars are probaley the second best team. Due to the way the
O-line blocks on pass plays. Fred Taylor is a better back than Davis.

Try playing humnas with VMU play calling. I you ever want to play a True Pro
look me up. My name is in the credits.

---------------------------------
Response
---------------------------------
I strongly disagree with you. No offense taken please. I have played with
the Dolphins many times and they don't work with me. They just don't have
good recievers and the running back is crap. Now, that I can run a good 3
yards per run, I need a good running back. The 49ers are really bad in my
opinion too. Steve Young is so bad in the game. I have won a couple of
games with them only. I admit, I think Atlanta is the best team in the game
now. Jacksonville is good, but not the 2nd best. I still have to polish up
my gameplay to play against you, because I lost to a friend a couple of days
ago. It was my fault though, I thought I would fake him out with a fake
field goal, it didn't work, and then he kicked a 53 yard field goal to win
it.

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
Hello there fellow gamer,

After reading your gamefaq it was obvious to me that you are clearly a
video football fan.
I just recently purchased the Dreamcast system and it didn't take long
before I fell in love with it. I usually pick up on games rather quick,
however I am having some trouble beating the computer. I know that in you
faqs you listed lots of strategies while playing against others. Do you have
any for playing against the computer?
I played rather well during the regular season, but am afraid to admit that
I often had to play some of the game at the rookie setting. Specifically I'm
having trouble with the run, the passing, hell and even the field goal
kicking. I can't seem to get a read on the wind direction. When I think that
it is blowing one way it turns out to be blowing the other. I made the
play-offs in a wildcard spot and I'm playing Greenbay. I'm the Redskins.
Please help! although I'm happy to be in the play-offs I do want to have
some good games. Ya know! Since it is the play-offs I'll be playing all the
games on the Pro level. So, with all that said...

PLEASE HELP ME SOON,

---------------------------------
Response
---------------------------------
Have you tried to use my stragety on the computer? I usually use the same
stragety. The run takes a long time to master. I've been playing NFL2k
since I got it on 9/9/99 and I just mastered the run. I can run for about
3-5 yards every play on the All Pro Setting. All I can help you with on the
run is to stiff arm and shoulder block. Also, run the routes that the
running play tells you too. If it says go up the gut, then go up the gut.
If it says cut to the right, then you better cut to the right. On the
passing, right before the ball comes to your reciever make sure you press Y
i think. It's the top button on the 4 button thing. Its the Jumping
button. I always press that before i catch just to make sure I catch the
ball. Also, you need to be really good at running after the catch. Use
stiff arms and shoulder blocks to get a couple of extra of yards. Don't go
deep a lot, you will get picked off for sure. On field goal kicking, you
have to get use to it. If you press the thing to the left a little it will
change the direction a lot. I make the arrow pointing to the side that I
wish to kick it closer too. Then I kick it and it usually goes down the
middle. If you are confuse, feel free to e-mail me back. Also, don't play
on Rookie. Whatever you do.

Question
---------------------------------
hey you gotta nice FAQ compiled. good work. i love this game a lot but i
got one problem. i got one of those memory cards with no screen on it and
its really pissing me off. i started a season with my made team and played
4 games. when i tried to play the next day when it loaded it said load info
is damaged and will be ignored. so i went and cleared the memory card and
then went back to the game and made one player saved it and restarted to see
if the mem would work. it did. so i made my team again played two games
and low and behold. when i tried to play again mem is damaged. is there
anything i can do besides taking the cheesy memory card back for a sega one.

I don't think there is anything else for you to do then take that peice of
crap and return it for a VMU. I heard from some other people that that has
been happening. Go spend some extra dollars and get a VMU. They are much
better. I have one, and it never happened to me.

Question
---------------------------------
hello,

I wanted to ask if there was a glitch in nfl 2k that messes up the stats.
Because when i started a season and played week 1, my quarterback threw one
interception and when i went to league stats, it showed that he threw 36
interceptions, which brought his rating way down? Is this a normal error in
every game?
Please respond.

Thank you

---------------------------------
Response
---------------------------------
I have had numerous complaints that stats were messed up on people's games.
It hasn't happened on my game, and I have played three seasons already. I
am pretty sure it's a game glitch, but I'm not sure if every game has it.

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
Q1)What is your favorite team on the game.
A1)I would have to go with the dolphins. Marino to Martin is unreal.

Q2)What do you think of my NFL2K FAQ?
A2) I think your Faq is very good.

I have a couple questions for you. The computer knows how to speed up and
catch you after you receive the ball. What role does the red arrow play/how
can I continuously speed up(I know A is the turbo button, but there is no
way a corner that falls down should be able to catch me when I am in full
stride)after I catch the ball. The book

---------------------------------
Response
---------------------------------
Something has to be wrong if the corner is catching you. I have no problem
running and beating a cornerback that is 2 yards behind me. If you hold
down turbo it will make you do a super dive. I don't hold down A when I
run, I keep tapping it. That's the best way to go in my opinion.

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
hey dude i need help i am a good nfl2k player in fact i have a whole shit
load of plays i use and i can run like crazy but i cant stop one simple damn
play my friend does and he burns me all da time with it.
He picks the JETS and does SHOTGUN-ALLSTREAKS
in maximum passing and just leads Keyshawn Johnson runs under it and boom
catches it no matter what even if hes double team i think its a cheap money
play i mean i only stop it if i sack him and when i pick a DB or even bring
a lineman to guard #19 hes triple teamed and even if i jump the pass is so
accurate and he burns all of my defense i cant stop him. I beat him
consistently by small margins but if i stop the long pass i will defeat him
bad. even in 3 minute quarters i only beat him 42-41 cause he missed a 2pt
conversion. help dude

---------------------------------
Response
---------------------------------
Wow, that has never happened to me before. I can guard Johnson verses a
friend with one guy. It must be the defense you are losing. Make sure you
use Base Cover Off 2 in Dime. It's a really good play that keeps him double
covered. When the ball comes close to him, make sure you press Y so you
swat it down. That's all I can think of.

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
Great FAQ man...I have one question though..I'm really having trouble
defending the long ball in 2player mode (I went undefeated against he
CPU on All Pro for the season)....My brother chooses the Jets and just
runs Shotgun - All Streaks every down and 5 times out of 10 he'll
complete a 40 yard pass...I know someone emailed you about the same
problem and you suggested that they call Dime Base Off Man, but later in
the FAQ you said you only call 4-3 defenses...So exactly which one is
better against the long ball? And do you recommend going to the yellow
cursor on the field or following the reciever? Hey and any other
pointers you can give me would help alot...Its gotten to the point where
I can't even play the game against someone cause the All Streaks play is
so damn cheap....

Thanks

---------------------------------
Response
---------------------------------
Well, both are good. I usually use 4-3 defenses because they work really
good, but base cover off is good too. It depends really. Protecting the
long ball is a hard thing to do. If your brother is getting it 5 out of 10
times, then that sucks. Always use some kind of base cover when you think
he's going to use All Streak. This will set up 2 safetys that will double
cover each receiver. This means that everyone is double covered. You must
take the cornerback and control him and try to beat the WR to the ball. Use
turbo and everything else. If you get there before him try knocking it
down. Make sure he doesn't get infront of you, because then there will be a
better chance he will catch it. I hope they helps somewhat.

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
My friend that i play always can bust threw my line and only leaves me about
a second to throw the ball! What offencive plays give good pretcetion on the
line so he cant bust threw? Thanks

---------------------------------
Response
---------------------------------
Hmm that's a tought question for 2 reasons. The first reason is I rarely
get sacked so I have no idea what's going on. What formation are you using
right now mostly? Also, the 2nd reason is that if you put more people on
the line, then there is less receivers. There's a problem then. Try using
Shotgun. You should get at least 3 seconds in
the pocket to throw it. Goodluck.

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
1. Packers. I am from WI so I know what types of plays the Pack uses.
They seem to work in the game as well.

2. Excellent. I really needed running help and you came through.

		One suggestion. Irritating crap section.

					1. computer calls for a fair catch then returns
					2. defend the next fair catch and take a penalty
					3. Randy Moss? Is he superman or something?

					Thanks for the awesome FAQ!!!

Sorry for the late response to the e-mail. I've been really busy.

I am from Fremont, California.

I don't have to play with good teams. I just use them because they are my
personal favorite.

Is NFL 2K Compatible with the internet? I don't think so. I think we'll
have to wait for 2001.

I am 15 years old.

Now that I have posted some of the e-mails I have gotten it may help you
with some stuff. If you have any questions please e-mail me.

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
Here is some feedback on your NFL2K faq.

First, I like the information in it, but it's a
little difficult to read. Perhaps breaking
some of the bigger blocks of text up with blank
lines would fix that up.

Second, you mispell the word 'strategy' as
'stragety' through out your faq.

Third, you use the word worse instead of worst;
'5 worse teams in the league' should be '5
worst teams in the league.'

I hope you find thid useful in making your faq
better, and keep up the good work.

Question
---------------------------------
like you, nfl2k is my favorite game, and I had a couple of things to say.

First off, nice faq, enjoyed it.

Second, The only challenge for me now in this game is beating the computor
200 to nothing on all pro on 7 minute quarters. Also, I have a bro who is
rather good at this game, so he gives me a challenge, sorta. The best play
in the game is no doubt, Cross route from Quads, it doesn't fail. Just pass
to the triangle dude. Also, Halfback toss left is an absolutely great play
unless they have a 3-4 or a 4-3. And is shotgun, the one play where the
tightend runs out ten yards and cuts left is awesome.

---------------------------------
Response
---------------------------------
Alright thanks for the comments. I will try out those plays and see if I
like them. I might put them in my Personal Stragety section if they are
good. Thanks

Hey Man,
Your FAQ on NFL 2K is so good. I was really sucky at the game and now I
kick ass. I can't thank you enjoy for making this faq. I have some
questions though.

How Many Hours Do you spend making this FAQ?

How Old are you?

Where do you live?

Thanks man.

I spent a lot of hours making this FAQ.

I am 15 years old.

I live in California.

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
Man i was just reading your FAQs and it seems like you know alot about the
game and how to win but lets go a little deeper than that. It seems like
this game likes to cheat. Like if you get a touchdown the game gets mad and
will throw a bomb and get a touchdown or if you are maiking a great drive
and you run the split belly up the middle you have ran 5 staright times and
you fumble. Can the game recognize this or what. Or one time i had just
made an unbeliveable drive with 30 seconds left to tie the game and when i
went for the feild goal and didnt look at the arrow and they had it shooting
off the screen exspecting me to fix it and i missed the thing. I got so
mad. I am good at the game and think its the greatest game ever but i just
wanna know why it is so damn smart and tricks me all the time. And what
about the playoffs, i got there and all the sudden the team was unstoppable,
its so frustrating. I play on Pro and i just dont know if this system has a
mind of its own. Please help

Response
---------------------------------
I have suffered this problem many times also. For example, I was playing a
season on All Pro and on the NFL Divisional Playoff game I kicked a field
goal with three seconds left in the half. Chris Chandler then throws this
perfect ball that just makes it over my recievers head for a touchdown.
Luckily, I came back with one second in the fourth quarter because of pass
interferance and threw a touchdown. I barely won that game. For some
reason the Al is pretty crappy in the beginning of the game and really kicks
ass at the end. I am pretty sure they programmed it like that because it
does have a mind of its own. There has been some weird plays that has
happened that almost made me lose the game. The only thing I can tell you
is if you are winning with like 10 seconds left go to dime and then press
Save Cover 2. There will be like 3 safeties so it is nearly impossible for
them to score a touchdown off you. Hope this helps.

---------------------------------
Question
---------------------------------
I read your FAQ and its great. I have one problem with NFL 2k that i need to
ask you about. I've tried and tried, but when creating a QB with create a
player, I cannot get above 68 overall rating. No matter what i do. I've been
able to get a 100 WR and all lineman i can get at 100, but i can't get RB
higher than 80. Do you know how to make a good QB and RB? If you have the
time could you reply to this e-mail with your answer? Thanks. Sorry I have
another question. I can't seem to get the extra creation points to work. I
go all the way down, but i don't get any extra points. How do you do it?

---------------------------------
Response
---------------------------------
For your first question I really don't know. I made a quarterback and I
played a season with him with the Minnesota Vikings. His rating was over
100. I guess you should just try to complete more passes and less
intereceptions.

For your second question I have not tested that code out. But IGN is
usually never wrong. Try again and see what happens. Sorry if I couldn't
help that much.

---------------------------------
Question

Your FAQ is so great. I can't believe you could make a NFL 2K FAQ this
good. Mad props to you man.

Thanks, it took a long time to make though.

15. How To Run
---------------------------------
Running in NFL 2K takes time to master. I remember back on 9/9/99 I tried
to run and I would never get a yard. A couple of weeks later, I would get a
yard or two a couple of times in the game. I was so happy when I got a yard
or two. Now I can run for 3 to 5 yards each play. It's not that hard to
master. I do this off the computer on All Pro and when I play friends.
First off, you should pick a good running team. Try Green Bay, Atlanta, or
Detroit. Then pick a running play that you would like to use. Make sure
you know where to run with the running back. That is the main thing. You
must follow and go up the gut if it tells you to go up the gut. If you cut
to the side, when you are suppose to run up the middle, you will not get a
good gain. Do what the play tells you too. Also, if you get a good run
going, make sure you tap A as much as you can. You need a lot a turbo so
people can't catch you. Also, use stiff arms and shoulder blocks. The
longest run I have gotten was 11 yards, but I have ran back a kickoff for a
touchdown on All Pro by shoulder blocking and stiff arming. If you can
master running then you should be unstoppable.

---------------------------------
16. Defense
---------------------------------
Having trouble protecting the long ball? Having trouble protecting the run?
Then you have came to the right place. Here I have listed the way I play
defense. It's slighty cheap but I rarely get a touchdown scored off of me.
Even when I'm playing friends or the computer on All Pro. First off, always
use the plays under 4-3. I always use that. I usually use Base or Base
Cover 2. They are probably the best two long ball protection plays in the
game. Base and Base Cover 2 are great because there are 2 free safetys.
The free safetys help protect the long ball because whenever the opposing
team goes deep, the reciever is double covered. The only bad thing about
Base and Base Cover 2 is when they run off you. There are not a lot of
people on the line when you run base and base cover 2. If you want to
protect the run, then use goal line base defense. Damn, your whole defense
is almost on the line. I have never gotten a long run off of someone using
goal line coverage. The comnputer has never gotten a long run off me when I
was using goal line coverage. What does that tell you? It tells you to use
goal line coverage on third and short. If you use base or base cover 2 on
first and second down and then use goal line on the third down, they will
usually have to put. Don't be stupid and use goal line on 3rd and 10
though. Make sure you only use goal line on like 3rd and 3, 2, or 1. If
you use goal line coverage on like third and 10, then the wide reciever will
only be single covered, and you will be screwed. I hope I helped you with
defense. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at
debuting@aol.com.

18. Cheap Plays
---------------------------------
Sometimes I fall behind against some people when I play them. Of course I
come back and win, but sometimes it is really close. Here are some cheap
plays to do on offense and defense to help you win the game.

Offense:

Trips - The third play something like HB something.
I use this even when I am winning. It's takes the running back and makes
him go for a short side pass. He is usually not covered so it's an easy 10
yards.

Shotgun - All Streak
There are 5 people out that you can pass to. Usually the defensive line is
small so just throw run with the Quarterback.

Shotgun then press L then do the first play
The X Reciever goes out for a nice play. He runs straight and then makes a
long 90 degree angle. He is usually wide open.

Fake Punt - Passing
This play actually works. The recievers are usually single covered or wide
open. Great play to use.

Shotgun - Comeback
The tight end goes into a slant pattern and then turns straight up the
field. Great play to use. Works half the time.

Field Goal Audible to A Punt
On 4th down when you wanna punt. Instead of picking punt, pick field goal.
Then call an audible (make sure punt is set for an audible spot). Pick Punt.
The other team won't have a returner down field. Usually you'll get 60+
punts. Works pretty good. It only works with field goal->punt. If you pick
another play first then audible to punt the kicker wont be punting the ball,
the HB will.

Defense:
There are no really cheap plays that you can use for defense. But you can
play cheap. First always blitz the quarterback. It usually makes him hurry
a lot. The other cheap play is if you are really beat by a reciever and you
know there is a touchdown then take your cornerback get him to full turbo
and right before the ball is in the hands of the reciever hit him. You will
be called on a penalty but it saves the touchdown.

---------------------------------
19. Irritating Things
---------------------------------
Thanks to Jeff (jbuske@powercom.net) for giving me this idea to make this
section. It was a great idea for a section to make.

1. Computer calls for a fair catch then returns.
2. Defend the next fair catch and take a penalty.
3. Randy Moss? Is he superman or something?
4. In the endzone and it slows down.
5. Can't call a time out fast enough in multiplayer mode.

---------------------------------
NFL 2K vs. NFL Blitz 2000
---------------------------------
Thinking of buying a good football game for Dreamcast. Well, right now
there is one extremely good game and one average game. NFL 2K has to be the
best football game ever. NFL Blitz 2000 isn't bad either though. I got NFL
2K on 9/9/99 and NFL Blitz 2000 on 10/23/99 and I play both of them. I
probably play NFL 2K more just because it is more fun. In this long
paragraph, I have listed what game is the better choice to buy. Hope you
enjoy it, and hope you buy at least one of these games.

Graphics
First off, NFL 2K is a great game graphics wise. When you first walk into
the room and you see someone playing NFL 2K, you think you are watching T.V.
This game has the best graphics next to Soul Calibur. On the other case,
NFL Blitz 2000 graphics are simple. They are pretty much the same as the
Playstation version. While NFL 2K has differen't faces, jerseys with wholes
in them, dirty pants, and stuff like that, NFL Blitz 2000 has the basics.
So if you are looking for a game with good graphics, then make sure you get
NFL 2K over NFL Blitz.

Graphics Results:
NFL 2K = 10
NFL Blitz 2000 = 7

Sound
This is a tough category. NFL 2K has really nice sounds. You can hear the
players talk, the three announcers talk, and the crowd noise. There is on
the field coverage about the weather and stuff like that. The announcers
have funny things to say, but sometimes they say the same stuff twice in a
game. Most of the time the announcers are right about the stuff. On the
other hand, NFL Blitz 2000 also has good sound. The announcers mostly say
funny stuff that never gets old. The players talk and say funny stuff also.
You can't really rate these games head to head on sound because they are a
lot different. I tried to thought.

Sound Results
NFL 2K = 9
NFL Blitz 2000 - 8.5

Gameplay
NFL 2K has to be the best all around game. The gameplay is awesome. You
have to get use to running but once you get that down the gameplay is solid.
The games are usually pretty close when you play on All Pro with 1 or 2
minute quarters. The Al is pretty good. NFL Blitz 2000 gets a bit old
after a while. The gameplay is more like WWF wrestling. All you have to do
is make sure you don't get body slammed or stuff like that. Basic running
and throwing. The games are usually scored real high. The Al is also
fairly good for NFL Blitz 2000.

Gameplay Results
NFL 2K = 10
NFL Blitz 2000 = 8

Replay Value
Both of these games have the same amount of replay value. When you have a
friend over, you will probably play NFL 2K over NFL Blitz 2000. But if you
have three friends over, then you'll probably play NFL Blitz 2000 over NFL
2K for two reasons. One, Blitz is much faster and it has a great 4 player
opition. Also, it is more of a party game then a real football game.
Overall, both of these games are going to last you a long time.

Replay Value Results
NFL 2K = 10
NFL Blitz 2000 = 10

Overall
Overall, NFL 2K beats out NFL Blitz 2000. If you only have the money to get
one football game, get NFL 2K, but if you can get both, please get both.

Overall Results
NFL 2K = 10
NFL Blitz 2000 = 9

---------------------------------
NFL 2K vs. Madden (SDogg506@aol.com)
---------------------------------
Having now sat down with NFL2K for many hours in both multiplayer and single
player mode, here are some comparisons...

Graphics- Why even go there you say? Well obviously NFL2K crushes Madden
in every aspect except...player design. Can you say variation? Everyone in
NFL2K is cock diesel regardless of position. Hell the center looks like he
could run a 4.4 40.
Note to Visual Concepts-- NFL2.1K needs specific player types that typically
come with the position, ie--full back should be a big guy in comparison to
the HB, Offensive Linemen should be huge and in decent shape (not Olympian).
Otherwise it's NFL all the way. The tackles are priceless, if at times
unrealistic (isn't suplexing the QB considered unnecessary roughness?).

Sound- Finally someone seems to have gotten it right. In NFL2K you feel
like you are an actual game. Fans chant and taunt. They've even got the
chick who comes out to give a lockerroom report after halftime. And the
commentary can get repetitive, but it's good for a laugh and almost always
accurate. Unlike the Pat Summerall show featuring snippets by the Fat
Man...Oh and the hits sound painful. Heck even the kicks sound like they
hurt the
kickers foot.

Gameplay- The biggest sore point in NFL2K is the running game. The lack of
the juke button makes it almost impossible to elude oncoming defenders. I
find that holding down A and pressing B simultaneously can spin off a tackle
or two, but by the time you've done that, damn near the entire team comes
bearing down on you. In Madden the running can be a little too easy (I can
consistently break Draws for 50yd TD's on All Pro), but it feels way more
balanced. I'd have liked to have seen the analog triggers as jukes that
could be accentuated the harder you pressed. Who needs two buttons to stiff
arm anyways? RB's don't usually change the hand they run the ball with.
Passing has to go to NFL2K. I don't feel like I miss plays due to some
phantom defense a la Madden 2000.

Overall- NFL2K is huge fun, especially in multiplay and the presentation is
jawdropping at least the first few times. It has more of an arcade feel to
it and I'd even recommend it over Blitz (just turn off the penalties) if you
like that type of game. I like the Create a Player, Team and Play modes.
Madden has a better create a player mode though, because you can make the
player anyway you want statistically and you can make more. I wish NFL2K
would allow you to make more than the five or six plays, because it's a
great feature and I love seeing my play names on the VMU. Anyways, get this
game if you have a DC, but keep Madden around because you might find
yourself yearning for a more sim type football game which Madden is the
better of. Don't get me wrong, I love this game for what it is, but it is
not the end all of football sims (neither is Madden for that matter.).
Peace and sweet
dreams.

21. Weird Plays
---------------------------------
These are some really weird plays that have happened when I was playing NFL
2K. If you have any weird plays feel free to send them to me at
debuting@aol.com.

---------------------------------
Weird Play #1
---------------------------------
It was the divisional playoffs and I was the Dallas Cowboys. I was playing
the Atlanta Falcons. There was 12 seconds left in the forth quarter and I
was down by 5. I was at the 35 yard line and just through a All Streak. My
reciever dropped the ball but there was a pass interferance call. I
couldn't believe it because I looked at the instant replay and the
cornerback didn't even touch my reciever. The next play with one second
left I through a one yard touchdown pass to win the game. What a great end
of a game.

---------------------------------
Weird Play #2
---------------------------------
Me and my friend were playing, and i was the packers and he was the jet's. I
had just scored a touchdown, and i was going for the two-point converstion.
Well, Farve droped back, Nobody was around him, he's see's and open player
and passes it, As soon as the ball leaves his hands, it skyrockets backward
60 yards, with a perfect spiral, then my friend went and picked it up and
the 2-piont was no good, but we looked at that play like 15 times, it was so
damn weird, we still down know what happened that day, but it was funny.

---------------------------------
Weird Play #3
---------------------------------
My craziest play was when Vinny Testaverde threw a 30yd pass into the
endzone to Keyshawn Johnson. Johnson was covered by two guys, the one
behind him ran in front and to Johnson's right, the other one jumped to
intercept. The ball went through the jumping guy's legs and into Johnson's
hands for the TD! I didnt believe it til i looked at the replay from every
possible angle. Its kicked ass!

---------------------------------
Weird Play #4
---------------------------------
MY CRAZIEST PLAY WA ON KICKOFF I WAS GREEN BAY AND WAS PLAYING DALLAS. THEY
KICKED IT OFF TO ME AND I WAS BREAKING IT TO THE OUTSIDE WELL THE ONLY
PLAYER LEFT WAS THE KICKER SO I DECIDED TO LOWER MY SHOULDER BUT I FUMBLED
IT THEY PICKED UP AND PROCEEDED TO RUN IT TO THE ENDZONE WHEN ONE OF MY GUYS
MADE THEM FUMBLE AND RAN IT TO THE 50. ALL TOGETHER IT WAS PRETTY CRAZY.

---------------------------------
Weird Play #5
---------------------------------
I got a punt return, two guys were coming after me, they crashed into each
other rite infront of me, i stoped, let them fall to the ground, jumped over
them, stiff-armed the next defender and got smashed by three guys, with the
gain of 35 yrds.

---------------------------------
Weird Play #6
---------------------------------
I was on my 6 and I bombed the ball about 50 yrds and my L wide receiver
caught it one handed and burned the hole team, while i was on the 25 the 4th
Q clock hit zero and i won the game with the touchdown

---------------------------------
Weird Play #7
---------------------------------
I was facing a good team and they were on their 2 (because of my great punt
that went out of bounds on the previous play {the announcer commented about
how great it was}) and i did a middle blitz and sacked their QB for the
Saftey.... i dont usually get Safeties in games

---------------------------------
Weird Play #8
---------------------------------
I was playing my friend. I threw like a 50 yard pass to jerry rice in the
end zone into double coverage. Both of his guys leaped as high as they
could. The ball hit one guy right in the nuts and bounced to jerry rice who
made a shoe string grab.

---------------------------------
Weird Play #9
---------------------------------
I was playing my season, which I am still in, I am the Colts it was week 6.
I through a pass into the inzone when the DB jumped and tipped it, my guy
did ran for it and caught it but wasnt in the inzone because it go tipped so
i started to turn around and smack got laid out by the DB and the ball shoot
out and my other WR pick it up and I ran it in from 5 yrds out. Winning TD
now my winning streak is still intact, undefeated so far.

---------------------------------
Weird Play #10
---------------------------------
Ok, I was the Cowboys playing in a season against the Redskins, first week.
I was beating them, 24-23 and they were first and goal from the 9, with
about a minute left. I sacked them once, for a loss of eight. Timeout with
about :50. First and Goal from the seventeen. Brad Johnson threw a prare to
the endzone that got batted down. Third down, and I am wondering why the
hell they are not kicking a field goal, but
the throw another prare to the endzone that Deion picks off and gets knocked
out of bounds at the one. They have three timeouts so I decide I have to
run it with about :30 left. I can't take a knee because I would take a knee
in my own endzone and that would lose the game for me. I run a HB counter
and gain about 2. The call a timeout with :25 left. I run Shotgun, G Lead,
which is usually a good play. Notice I say USUALLY. I run it and before I
can hand it off I get pummeled for a safety. 25-24! I kick it off and they
just take knees because I used all of my timeouts earlier.

---------------------------------
Weird Play #11
---------------------------------
i was down by two with 2 seconds left and they went for a 59 yard field goal
on accident i called a punt block. The kicked the ball i was short in the
endzone i caught it and ran i knocked down 1 guy and the kicker. The kicking
team was horrible only to people went after me.

---------------------------------
Weird Play #12
---------------------------------
I was playing my second season (with the falcons this time) and i played it
on easy the entire first game. the second game, i was up against the bills.
when the second quarter started, i moved the difficulty up to pro, because
there wasnt any competition. it was 2nd down on atlanta 34 yd-line. i hit a
"pitch left" run from the fomation next to "trips". i ran jamal to the left
side of the field, charged one tackler, then ran up the rest of the field
tapping turbo furiously. i had to jump over one diving tackler and ran into
the endzone. when it was time for me to kickoff, the summary said "78 yard
run touchdown by jamal anderson".

---------------------------------
Weird Play #13
---------------------------------
I had a 98 yard run on pro setting with Robert Smith on the Vikings, i
forget who i was playing. Stiff arm, and the shoulder charge thing are the
key to long runs. Once you break threw the first few tacklers with that, you
gotta go nuts on turbo, and hope someone fast isnt chasing you. My longest
pass was a 99 yarder to Randy Moss on pro setting.

---------------------------------
Weird Play #14
---------------------------------
I got a 99 yard run with terrell against the panthers on all pro setting.
It was amazing I have never even come close to doing it again. How I did it
was I chose I-form, counter. To get big yards you start running with your
two blockers. Then when defenders come and try to tackle you, move the
joystick so that your blockers kind of go off at the defenders and it opens
a huge ass hole and all you have to do is run for daylight.

i recruited bobby hoying from waivers went 11-5 and then steve young came
back for the divisional semi-final and took the niners to the super bowl
where we beat the pats 56-31!!

---------------------------------
Injury #15
---------------------------------
I was playing my brother and he was on offense. His center snapped the ball
and I was about to sack his quarterback. He ran right behind the center and
it looked like I caused a fumble. Instead of causing a fumble, the center
was injured. He got the wind knocked out of him and he was out for 4 plays.
I thought to myself, what a pu$$y, he should get right back in there. I
played football and I got the wind knocked out of me and stayed in the game.
This was the worse play I have ever saw in my life.
