Question from SkiMaskKass
Asked on: 8/6 6:33PMAbout a week ago I went into a rummage sale and bought a Sega Dreamcast with 6 games and some other stuff. Anyways when I came home I hooked it up to my television and pluged in the controller and insert sonic adventure . I turn it on with the Dreamcast start-up opening with the logo and everything. Then Its asks me for the date (for saved data and what not) and I tried all the buttons, and anolog stick ect. NOTHING. It couldn't move a dang thing. I put in a differnt game. (crazy taxi) try moving it and nothing again. I call my friend who used to own a dreamcast to help me. Me and him assumed the controller was broken, we took it apart twice to try to fix it but no cagar. We think its un fixable so I ordered some controllers via amazon and they came in today. Even with the new controllers nothing happend! I'm just wondering if this is a problem that can be fixable or. The sega dreamcast is broken and will for ever be frozen.
PLEASE HELP ME

statusif not the controllers, then I'm guessing that it is the controller ports. It is possible to damage a control port when putting in a dc pad. It was most likely broken when you picked it up at the sale. As for fixing it. Sorry mate, I have no idea.
The same thing happened to me, but luckily i snagged a diffent dreamcast with a dead lens in it. So I opend it up and swapped the controller ports and, volia! woked like new. The dreamcasts were different models too, and the ports were still comnpatible, so if you can find a different dc laying around some where or some thing, then yes it is completely fixable.
