"Finally a reason to own the Dreamcast"
Believe me when I say I don't give out a lot of 10's, this is my first. I've been playing games for over 25 years, starting with Pong and Atari 2600 so I've seen it all, and this game is a marvel.
GRAPHICS- 10/10 This game really will have you creaming your pants. No slow down or pop up and sights that are spectacular. The attention to detail is amazing and every sign, store front, street sign, poster, etc. is hilarious.
MUSIC & SOUND- 7/10 The music isn't bad but it's not as spectacular as the rest of the game: however, the sound works as a character in the game because you here the babies and enemies before you see them, which is very important in the game.
CAMERA & CONTROLS- 9/10 As in all games there is no such thing as a perfect camera, but this game comes close. As for the controls, I'm told this is the Turok configuration, but I wouldn't know about that; it does take some getting used too. You may hate it at first, but after about an hour you'll realise how perfect it is. There is also a more traditional configuration, but I tried it and the default works best, at least for me.
GAMEPLAY & REPLAY & VALUE- 10/10 There is just so much to do in this game from shooting, platforming, puzzle solving, exploration, mini-games, etc. About the only thing missing is RPG, but you do need to get things in the game to access other areas. With all the babies to rescue, 100 gold tokens on every level, etc., the replay is definitely there. Each true level is monstously huge, bigger than some games. I estimate that it will take at least 50-60 hours for the best gamer to get everything. I've never made it to 100 hours on any game yet, but expect to here. As an example after 12.5 hours I've only finished 2 levels and the training level. The game is supposed to have 30 levels; however, I believe there may only be an actual 15, not counting bosses, I wouldn't count each world's hub or the village: however that's way more than enough.
FINAL COMMENTS- This is the one game to make you go out and get a Dreamcast. Every Dreamcast owner has to have this game, and hopefully all the sequels to follow. If you were debating about getting this game know that it is not a first person shooter, but a third person action adventure platform shooter, and quit debating and run to your nearest store to get it. It's $50 you'll never regret spending.
