World Series Baseball 2K1

Summery-

This game is a good baseball game made by Sega, it has many high points and many low points, it's a game you have to get used to or you won't like it.

-Control/Gameplay-

The control well for the defensive that's a joke. There is no control it's computered controlled and might I add not well controlled at all.Often A player hits a high fly balll to the out field, meanwhile your player stands there, than runs like a drunk duck and watches the ball fly over his head. Also another bad part is they never air mail the cut off man to gun a guy at the plate. One thing that people don't realize too is the fact that there are NO erros in the game. So that kinda over passes the fielding part. As for the rest the pitching is easy to learn and I love the batting, the swing is with the triggers on the bottom of the controller where your fingers are anyways, smart sega smart!

-Music/Sound-

This part of the game is SAD. It really is, I cannot believe that they spent so little time on this. Where to start?? Well lets see here, if you put this game on mute you will be happier. The crack of the bat is dull more like your clickin your teeth rather than smakin a 400 foot homer. Also the crowd is herendous. There boos sound like
a duck with a fat guy sittin on his face. It's horriable. As for music there is just that crap at the begging, I wouldn't call it music.

-Storyline/Replay Value-

Well being a baseball game there really is no story line, as for replay value there is a ton. There is your usal exhibition, Season, and Playoff features. All are good in the season you can choose from, 15,30,81,100,or 162 games which keeps you comming back for more. Now on to the reasons they were 2 points from a perfect score. First point off was cause there is no home run durbey, which is a great feature that they left off. The second was taken away because, in the playoffs mode you have to simulate the season, so if your team does not make it, you have to keep goin back and back untill they do.

-Graphics/Challenge-

This is the real high point of the game. The absolute best I have ever seen in my entire life. When I played this game for the first time as the Cubs I thought I was sittin on Wrigley Field. I now know why the controls are so bad, it's because they spent a hour on each player. When you look at the faces I gurentee you; you will know who it is. The fields look so real you feel like your sittin in the box seats. One thing that depressed me is the replay feature, you don't controll when you see get it, and when you do 90% of the time you don't even get the entire play. As for the challenge pretty good you have a few levels to choose from Legend being the highest. Oh and the reason for the loss of 1 point is the crowd, I bet sega spent a minute makin them!

Like I said this game has it up's (graphics) and it's downs (defense, if you are a die hard baseball fan, and you don't mind gettin used some major bumps on the World Series 2k1 road I suggest byin this. If you are just a mediocre fan I suggest rentin it, and if you like it(which I doubt u will)go out and add it to your collection, if not don't waste your money on one of the most average games ever!!
