"UFC Doesn't live up to the hype"

When I first heard about this game I was excited. I always watched the UFC on Pay-Per-View. I read up on this game and read all the positive hype it was getting. It was dubbed best of e3, but I don't think the game lives up to the hype.

Graphics:9/10
Beautiful fighter entrances the combination between realtime and FMV is perfect. The detail to creating an exact replica of the real UFC fighter is amazing. The in game graphics are also outstanding and some of the best on the system.

Sound:7/10
The sound effects in this game are above average. Nothing incredibly special

Gameplay:6/10
When I first played the demo of this game I thought the fighting was amazing. All of the punches,kicks,reversals,submissons,etc.. were realistic and easy to control. But I find there's a lack of depth in the gameplay, and it gets tiresome after a while. Yes, the are 3000 moves but you only end up seeing less than half of them. Also the games reversals when on the mat aren't really based on timing but button bashing which takes away from the game.

Replay Value:1/10
To me this game has hardly any replay value. The options in the create a player are very limited. You can't customize your looks nor your moves. Also the games 34 different fighting styles breaks down to about 12 or less different ones. Mainly you just see different types of submissions styles such as (h2o's submission sytle,Shamrocks submission style). I thought there were going to be fighting styles like Jeet-Kwan-Do or Brazilian Jujitsu (Used By Former UFC fighter Hoye Grace) these styles and many more were listed in a recent edition gamepro. Also one fighting style is complete ridiculous Bruce's type. Without a variation of fighting styles, it brings down the games replay value.

To say this game is a disappointment is an understatement. I was expecting variation of fighting styles. A well as many other things this game didn't have. Thats why I gave this game a 4
