Dynamite Cop!
Review by FRIEDSTRUCK
"Hehe This Game is Hilarious and Fun. Lacking Though..."
After playing many hours of this game on the demo disk, I finally got my pennies together, and bought it off of Ebay. Let this be known right now. This game is quite possibly the most fun game that has ever been made. That's the honest to God truth. Game play is an area that will further prove my point.
Game play: 8/10
The perfect example of a pick up and play game, its that easy to learn. You choose from 3 different characters (a white male, a white female, and an African American male), and each have their own strengths. One is an especially adept shooter, one is an especially adept fighter, and the other is super fast. Also, the ability to pick up anything and attack with it really beefs up the fun. There are 2 levels to the entire game, however they are split up into 3 parts, and thus there are many different sub-levels that you can play in. As far as modes go, there is the standard mode, and then there are the extra modes (survival, co-op, and the mini-game, gunslinger). Pretty good game play, how is the story?
Story: 6/10
The president's daughter is trapped in a suitcase inside a cruise ship. You must rescue her. As I said, lacking... Graphics are next.
Graphics: 8/10
One of the best elements of the game. Each character is very detailed, as well as the levels. The reason that it isn't perfect is, again, that the game is a bit lacking, and the cut scenes always have what seems to be a beam of light right in the middle. On to sounds.
Sounds: 6/10
Meh. The sounds in this game are pretty much optional, and don't add as much to the game as they could have. While the sound effects are decent, and quite humorous, the music is just mediocre, and really seems to have been put their purely for completeness sake. Prepare for the worst: Replay ability.
Replay ability: 4/10
A recurring word in this review is lacking. That word doesn't have any more significance than when used in this category. Aside from Survival Mode, there really is nothing more to do once you beat the game.
Buy or rent?
Dreamcast games cannot be rented, and only buy this game if you want to have fun for a little while. Or, if you just like beating games over and over again, its not a bad choice either.
Fun. This game can be summed up with just that one word. You may never play a more fun game in your life, but you will most likely play a much better game than this. Sega didn't go wrong here, they just didn't do enough. "Poor Baby!"
