"One hell of a ride!"

Red Dog is an action game made by Argonaut (The creators of Star fox, but Nintendo *SURPRISE* took all the credit) You control a tank through many levels spread throughout the globe. It has a great (but kinda short) single player game but excellent multiplayer.

Graphics - 8
No high polygon models, or incredible life-like characters, or no creative enemy design. But hell, All the light-effect-filled explosions going through the incredibly detailed and amazingly huge levels at a rock-solid 60fps will impress some.

Sound - 7
Nothing too special to mention here. The music fits the game nicely and the sound effects are excellent. But no voice in the briefing hurts this score.

Gameplay - 10
The first level is a bore, but after you get used to the controls (It's a very bumpy ride) you'll love the game. The level design is very clever to say the least and the boss encounters are overwhelming. They are just freaking huge! Also, the game is rather challenging, but not too hard. I'd say just about right. The multiplayer is very fun. It is one of those party games you play with your friends non-stop (Like Mario Party or Virtua tennis)

Replay Value - 9
With a rewardable high-score system (you get a new multiplayer stage for every ''A'' on a mission and a new cheat for every bonus challenge you complete in the Mini-games) and a great multiplayer game, I can tell you that Red Dog is a solid purchase, and it won't collect dust as long as you bring some friends over once in a while.

Final Score - 8 '' A great game, most people will love it''
If you are an action nut like I am, you will give a higher score, but it lacks a little on the personality (MDK2 has tons) and the soundtrack (This is no N64 kids!) so I had cut off a point. But it has great level design on single player and awesome mutliplayer gameplay.

Pluses
+ Great level design
+ Awesome boss encounters
+ Huge levels with great lighting effects running at 60fps
+ A very fun multiplayer

Minuses
- Boring soundtrack (nothing too special)
- Single player kinda short
- No personality (After Duke Nukem 3D, all action games must have tons of it)
