Crazy Taxi 2
Review by FRIEDSTRUCK
"We're Back!!"
Well well those crazy cabbies are back, and this time they've brought 4 new friends. Crazy Taxi 2 improves on the original in almost all aspects, though I find it to be not as enjoyable as the first. Still a great game though, the addition of more music from the offspring makes it even better. Game play wil show just how good this game is.
Game play: 9/10
Yup, just like the first Crazy Taxi, Crazy Taxi 2 is an excellent pick up and play game. A new feature is available in Crazy Taxi 2, and that is the addition of the Crazy hop. The Crazy hop is basically a jump, however when paired with the right speed and timing, you can start (or continue) a nice little combo, and it gives you mad cash. Otherwise, this game plays fairly the same, with a new city, and the Crazy Pyramid mode (Crazy Taxi 2's version of the Crazy Box), this game delivers just as much as the first Crazy Taxi does. Story is a different story though...
Story: N/A
Like the first Crazy Taxi, Crazy Taxi 2 does not have much in the way of story. Not a big deal though. Graphics are coming at you next.
Graphics: 9/10
Basically the exact same graphics as Crazy Taxi, things have been improved just a little bit, though not enough to truly notice. Apple (New York) looks quite nice, and like San Francisco, quite realistic and true to the real thing. The new cabs also look just great, as do the new drivers. New customers are also there, and they are just as detailed as always. Sounds are also as good as Crazy Taxi.
Sounds: 10/10
New sound effects have been put in place as well as new... oh fudge it, the Offspring is back and better than ever. The music is spot on, really in sync with the game. Its frantic and, it sounds great. Mind you, I prefer the songs in the first Crazy Taxi, however Crazy Taxi 2 seems to have found the perfect blend of music with its game play. Perfection! And the replay ability is almost perfect too.
Replay ability: 9/10
With a new city to explore, and the crazy pyramid mode, there is a lot to do in Crazy Taxi 2. Plus there are a lot more things to unlock, from the Rickshaw bike, to a baby carriage, to the drivers from the first game (that's right, B.D. Joe is back!), you should be playing this for a while.
Buy or rent?
If you can rent it, rent it first to see if you like it more than the first, because you may feel that it adds nothing and is not worth it. But I say buy.
Well, its a great game Crazy Taxi 2, though I till prefer the prequel. Offspring and B.D. Joe are just a lethal combination I guess. You know what they say: More Offspring= Awesome! "Alright, its time to make some crazy money are ya ready? Here we go!"
