"Two great companies, one moderate game"

Everyone wanted to see this game created. SNK and Capcom finally made one of the most anticipated games ever. However, this game was not what I expected at all. It was below my expectations, but thats not to say that it wasn't good.

Graphics 8/10
All the SNK characters look fantastic with new drawn graphics. No doubt the SNK characters look better than they ever have. Capcom characters were basically in their Street Fighter Alpha 3 graphics, except for Ryu/Ken/Vega(M Bison). The backgrounds are astounding in this game. The backgrounds are breathtaking, with shadowing, lighting effects, etc. This game's graphics are great, but of course cannot compare to the 2d quality of Guilty Gear or Street Fighter 3.

Music/Sound 9/10
The music is great in this game, and with the console version's ability to set old style music, this game's music will defintely impress. The sounds in this game are great as well, with such greats as Terry's Buster Wolf's ''Are you Okay??''. No doubt something you won't be disappointed in.

Story 6/10
Eh, you can't really combine two different games and expect a great plot, but still its enjoyable, just check out the ending. I will say no more.

Gameplay 7/10
The game plays more of an old style fighter, like Super street fighter 2. This game's gameplay was solid. However, there was a huge noticable problem. This being mostly on the SNK's side. The SNK characters just don't play the same as they do in the King of Fighters. As a matter of fact, they are just worse, with significantly less moves and priority. I was definitely disappointed. But after playing the game for awhile, you get used to it and they play alright and more like Capcom characters.

Replay 8/10
This console version has a ton of secrets to gain. Also, with the new characters you can earn in the secrets mode, you have a decent amount of characters with their EX forms included, to work with. However, you may find the secret mode extremely frustrating due to the fact that you hardly earn any points per game, and the secrets cost a huge amount. If this seems like a problem, just download the save game(if you can) on this site.

Overall 8/10
SNK players may need to adjust, but this game overall is a good but not great game. I'm sure the next Capcom vs SNK will be a lot better *crosses fingers* and even though this version is lacking in some respects, it has a lot of neat things that you'll like.
